Hi,

Regarding your concern, just connect the audio cable from the LCD to your computer. The audio cable should also be connected to the audio port found at the back of the LCD.

I hope we fixed it. Thank you for visiting FixYa!

View sonic computer screen was dropped and now when you turn it on the picture comes on and then it emits a high pitched sound and turns off. any suggestions?

Sounds like you may have broke at least one of the lamps . The high pitch sound you are hearing is the high voltage that goes to it .

I recently bought a Windows 7 64 bit PC. I have Optiquest monitor with built-in speakers. The sound was working fine and then it stoppped. I tried stand-alone speakers, then anoither monitor with speakers-...

Go into control panel / sounds / sounds and audio / select audio blind / should see a driver listed in each device. Back to sounds blind /test sound, if you can see the black arrow but its greyed out then driver is faulty. If you can click on it and it changes baxk to th esquare all is OK, ensure the sound jack is plugged into the GREEN ones at rear PC. Also check in volume blind that speakers are selected.

Monitor doesnt turn on

From your description, it sounds like the internal 5 Amp cartridge fuse is open. Will need to open the housing and inspect the fuse for failure. If located and failed, replace it and energize the monitor.

If the fuse fails immediately, you have a High Voltage power supply short and the monitor is scrap. It will cost more to replace the power supply/transformer than the monitor is worth.

Hope this provides some useful information.

No sound

Is there a rca/headphone jack for the monitor? Make sure that the jack is plugged into the computer's audio out rca jack. A driver should not be needed for the audio on the monitor. If the jack is plugged in make sure that the audio is not muted on the computer. Right click on the speaker icon in the right bottom of the screen on the windows tray nand open the sound mixer. Make sure all the sounds are on. Then check the monitor settings and make sure the sound is on and not muted thru the monitor buttons. If the cable is good and all these things are ok then the internal sound amp in the monitor might be bad.

Optiquest V655 Monitor no power

Have you tried another power cable? It could be a power supply problem. Too be honest, being a 15" crt monitor it would prob be cheaper to replace the whole unit than have it diagnosed and repaired
