mp3 player RCA TH1611-A after new AAA battery is inserted correctly, and "on" switch pressed the display lights up with PEARL logo but logo doesn't circulate. then the keypad lights up for nanosecond and then flickers off. Take battery out and reinsert something happens.

yeah, I solved the problem after speaking to customer support at Audiovox/RCA I threw it in the trash as advised by the customer support person on the line and then I promised myself never to purchase another product from either company and to give that same advise and referral to every person I come across looking to purchase electronics. American Made Products ****!!!!

Yes, I have the exact same problem with my RCA TH1611. Oh, and it says "made in China" on the back
