Question about Dell E197FP LCD Monitor
I have a Dell E197FPf LCD monitor. It's had a problem with a single vertical blue line on the right side of the screen for a while now. Recently it added a green line and a few magenta ones.
I've already replaced the video cable. The problem was not resolved. I've also tried the monitor on multiple computers, and on no computer at all. The lines appear anytime the monitor is powered on, no matter what computer it's connected to, or even if it's not connected to any computer.
What else can I try?
Inside the monitor.
I don't know how comfortable, or knowledgeable you are about monitor repairs, but your next step would be to open the monitor, and reconnect any wired connections within.
Make sure to take safety precautions any time you work on the internals of a monitor.
If the monitor is still under warranty, contact them aboout a repair, or replacement.
If it's not, it's time to "go under the hood".
With the cost of LCD montiors as low as they are now, it may not be cost effective to attempt a repair beyond checking internal connections.
