T 3G ihone connects automatically when I get in my Toyota Prius but the reception is very bad. The beginning of ieach call is very low volume and the within 60 seconds the volume increases. Also, the peoplle at the other end of the call complain that I am breaking up. The miss about every fourth word.
Other phones worked fine in the car.
What can I do?
Well the folks at ATT were useless. The person at the technology counter said she did not know about technology. She asked the other counter person who said just go to the Toyota dealer.
I call Apple and talked with Bryce. He said this was a very big problem effecting owners of BMW, Toyota, Infiniti. Apple is working on it he said.
He mentioned that when the G3 iphone came out it did not do this. Now it is massive.
Funny thing is, my phone did not do this originally. Now, 25 days into ownership it is Bluetooth worthless.
At least now we won't waiste time at ATT or the car dealer or reprogramming bluetooth connection.

Either you are in a poor reception area, or you have gsm only connected or your aerial on the phone is not making a proper connection due to recent water ingress or attempted dismantling.
you should be able to check 3G reception for your area over the Internet google 3G your location to ascertain if you get good coverage, if you do then it's probably the phone carrier settings, if they are correct then I would consider physical connection of aerial in phone.it is possible to add an aerial foil to improve reception in some phones or change carrier.
If you have another bluetooth device it might be taking the connection. Turn if off to test.
The power settings may automatically disconnect but they should reconnect the moment you recieve or place a cally. If this is true you can ignore the connected message since it doesn't effect function.
The car may have been paired with other devices and is trying to connect to them. Attempt to delete all BT partnerships on the car's system.
Borrow someone elses' phone just to test pairing it with your car. This will at least narrow this down the problem to the phone or the car.
Hopefully one of these will help you resolve your problem.
I will monitor any comments you post and assist more if I can.
yes what you need to do is not go into the phone menu but main settings menu of the head unit in there is a setting for bluetooth go into that and you can highlight and delete pairing do this for the lg vu as well and then it should free up and let you reinstall it normaly if that doesnt work get back to me and maybe we can set up a live phone chat and i can walk you while im sitting my prius so i can give you more specific instuction
Both my 3GS and iPhone 4 connect to my aftermarket bluetooth headset in my car. The phones can then play music wirelessly into my stereo or be used for hands free calls.
Hope this helps,
