Depends if you need a wireless or wired bridge?

Here is some info for you.

Infrastructure Mode

With a wireless Access Point, you can operate the wireless LAN in the infrastructure mode. This
mode provides wireless connectivity to multiple wireless network devices within a fixed range or
area of coverage, interacting with wireless nodes via an antenna.

In the infrastructure mode, the wireless access point converts airwave data into wired Ethernet
data, acting as a bridge between the wired LAN and wireless clients. Connecting multiple Access
Points via a wired Ethernet backbone can further extend the wireless network coverage. As a
mobile computing device moves out of the range of one access point, it moves into the range of
another. As a result, wireless clients can freely roam from one Access Point domain to another and
still maintain seamless network connection.

I'm trying to install and configure my TrenDnet router but first I had to set my modem to bridge mode to use the router but when in bridge mode my SpeedStream won't connect to the internet. Why?

In Bridge mod, it means that you have to configure a Broadband connection on your computer to be able to connect to the internet.

To use your router with the speedstream, the Trendnet must not be used in bridge mode. Configure it to be connected to internet, then plug the speedstream to it.

How do you change to bridge mode

If you are thinking of bridge mode that a DSL modem can be set in, cable modems are by design set up like this. Cable modems are dumb that are only made to pass the public IP address given to whatever is behind it, therefore making it always in a bridge mode.

Can't play other players online with PS3 because of NAT3 network configuration.

There are many reason as to why NAT3 is not open. First is the ISP's modem, verify from your ISP is set into full bridged mode. If it is just half-bridge, informed your ISP to help you set modem into full bridge mode. Second is forward the port numbers TCP: 80, 443, 5223 and UDP: 3478, 3479 in your router. You will access the set-up page of your D-link router and click "advanced tab" and choose "port forwarding"

Bridge router

1. Use both the Modem and the router as NAT routers. Do this by making your router a DMZ node on your modem, that way ALL traffic will pass to the router, then set up port forwarding etc on the router.

2. Run the router/modem in bridge mode (recommended). You need to set the modem to run in bridge mode, check the user manual for refrences to bridging. Then set the router to connect to PPPoE using a username and password.

Reseting "Bridge mode" in RCA DCM 305R cabel modem

you can't set teh modem to bridge mode, however, you can set the router to bridge.
The linksys should have bridge mode configuration in the uer guide.

connected the 2 router together
configure the IP address of the liksys to be inthe same subnet as the moem, but out of the range of the DHCP of the modem. ie. DHCP address 192.168.0.2 through 192.169.0.100, the linksys should have the IP address as 192.168.0.200
disable the DHCP on the linksys
setup the wirless just the way you would if ti was the modem.
connect from the modem LAN port to the LAN port on thelinksys. leave the WAN port open.

Well,
PPPoE, is nothing but Point to Point over Ethernet.. which is your normal windows OS connectiod and the bridged mode is the mode in which the routers are set. In this mode, the router will authenticate with the uid and the passwrod, and not the modem. got it??

Sound

Hi monmax,
I hope you are aware that in bridged mode your amp will become monaural (single channel, double power). If you still wish to bridge it:
Switch of power.
Set mode switch behind amp to "bridge" position.
Connect speaker positive to CH1+ve terminal of amp output and connect speaker negative to CH2 +ve terminal.
Be aware that now, in bridged mode your amps output power delivery is 1100 watts for a 4 ohm speaker and 900 watts for an 8 ohm speaker. Make sure your speaker can handle that.
Peace
Jango.
