I have tried your advise, my drivers are working properly, my printer prints all the colours , but not black, I have even deep cleaned my nozzles and head, and still no black printing only colours.

If colours are faded I would recommend running several cleaning/deep cleaning cycles to try and pull through the colours. It is difficult to say without seeing the print quality, but it sounds like an issue with a partially blocked printhead within the printer. The printing in blue would suggest to me that one of the blacks in your printer is blocked. Were all 5 colours present on the nozzle check?
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles. Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles. After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required. A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

Hi, To ensure this is only an issue with the black, I recommend printing off a nozzle check. This will show you if this problem is effecting any of the other colours. To print a nozzle please refer to chapter 12 page 115 of the manual, If colours are missing I recommend cleaning the print head. You have two options for cleaning the print head a normal clean and a deep clean, start by doing a normal clean if required try doing a deep clean. You can download the manual here: http://www.fixya.com/support/p360568-canon_multipass_mp390_all_in_one_inkjet/manual-10203#
Your printhead has burned out nozzles, the black is the most used and first to go. It switches nozzles during printing for even wear, that's why every few lines you get bad spots. You need a new printhead.
I have a similar problem - i can print all colours apart from red. I've tried cleaning, deep-cleaning, and even bottom plate cleaning but of none if this improves anything.
Tried cleaning the print heads and nozzles with cotton buds, but this dont do anything. Even tried re-seating the cartridges but this does nothing either
