Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with friends and
family from college, high school, church, etc.!
It is user friendly and easy to understand. It also now has
instant messaging on it so that you can talk to other friends logged on!
Before setting up a Facebook account, you must have an e-mail address.
That will be your sign in name.
Also, you must be at least 13 years old.
Go to
http://www.facebook.com./
On that page, you will see sign up and a place to put your
full name, e-mail address, new password, gender, and birth date.
Fill out that information and click sign up.
The next step will be a security check.
It will ask you to enter the text you see in the box above.
Enter the words correctly and press sign up.
If the words are entered correctly, it will then ask you to
confirm your e-mail address.
You will need to go to the e-mail address you put and check
for an e-mail from Facebook.
The subject Facebook Registration Confirmation. In the
e-mail, it will give you a link to press to confirm your e-mail address.
It will bring you to a new screen.
The first step will be to see if your friends have an
account.
It can check it through your e-mail address book.
If you don't want to do that now, you can skip the step.
That option is at the bottom of the page.
Step 2 will ask you for some profile information.
It will ask what high school and college you attend or
attended.
This will help find classmates.
Click next and it will bring you to a page with photos.
You can then add friends from school.
You can skip this step if you like.
Step 3 is to join a network.
You do not have to join a network.
A network is a city or school you would like to be
associated with.
You can skip this step if you like.
Your profile is now made! You can add photos if
you like and add and change any information.
