Question about Califone International 1010AV Turntable

Fuse issue My Califone 1010AV began to smoke when I started the player this afternoon. Could this be a fuse issue or something more of an issue that needs special care? Thanks in advance.

What part was smoking? Mine had smoke coming from under the speaker jack. When I checked underneath, and turned it on, then off quickly, it was the IC Amplifier chip. Its part number is TDA2030A and are available on eBay.

Something more. A fuse is there to prevent damage (smoke) from components. If you smelled smoke, something is likely seriously awry and you should check it or have it checked out.

Smoke from fuse box

You have a short somewhere. You might have some wires melted. I would disconnect the battery to prevent more damage. Visually check the fuse box and the fuses. If you find anything burnt or smell something burnt. Have a mechanic trace the short to repair.

After hitting a pot hole, I began having electrical issues starting with the tire pressure light coming on then the nav screen and radio cut off. is this related to the collision?

start checking your battery connections, fuses, fuse box connections. all the wiring on the impact side of the car. it sounds like you knocked a ground wire or something loose.

Alesis Multimix8 started smoking and now won't turn on. If it is a fuse or something how do i replace it?

A blown fuse will not produce smoke. A component failed and probably fried a resistor, which would smoke. That in turn would blow the fuse.Just replacing the fuse will not cure the problem. Your unit needs repair.

Audio system began smoking and quit playing at all.

Hopefully there is a fuse connected to the positive line of the radio. Remove the radio from the dashboard and check for a red wire. There should be a white or black fuse holder close to the radio. Replace the fuse and the burnt wiring and recheck the status of the radio. Hope this helps!

I have a customer with a serious problem! He's also my cousin> He ran his impala out of fuel four days ago and it burned up the factory original fuel pump. I replaced it and then two days later the pump...

When you replaced the pump, did you replace the pump relay? I'm concerned with the smoke...That may indicate more than a minor electrical problem. You need to find the exact source of the smoke and pretty much stop attempting to start the car by bypassing stuff. That said, likely when you correct the short, it will most likely restore the fuel pump electrical as well, since that's where the problem began.
Check all wiring near where the smoke came from for signs of overheating, check the pump relay and fuse and check any fusible links to make sure everything is intact and as it should be. Without knowing exactly what shorted, creating a bypass or "work around", can back-feed power to somewhere it can do more damage to sensitive computer circuits. Aside from the pump problem the vehicle had no other issues...you don't want to make any new ones.
I know I'm not telling you what you want to hear. That's because even if I was right there, I'd need to begin tracing wires and doing pretty much what I outlined.
In electrical work, there is no guessing, and once you see smoke you know you are on dangerous ground and at risk of melting down the harness or other expensive items. It may turn out to be something simple but you need to be sure.

Wiring on the firewall began to smoke after the blower motor stop

If the smoking wire is the one you added to the system, likely it is either shorted somewhere or the blower motor is going bad and drawing too much voltage. If the smoking is coming from factory wiring, for the heater? If so, there is a short there (likely the problem or part of the problem you bypassed) this should have blown a fuse. But , you'll need to identify the cause either way before you burn it down!!! PS when adding a hard wire to anything, always use a fuse in the line and be careful where you hook it up to avoid other electrical problems down the road>
