Yes you can, but not "through" your tv, unless your tv had component video outputs. you should run a component cable from your cable box directly to your projector, or do what i did and buy a multimedia reciever/surround sound system and run it to that then split it from that to your tv and your projector.

I have the Sony VPL CS1 projektor and want to connect it to my tv, so that i can watch television channels on the big projektor screen, is this possible?

if your TV has video output signals for the program you are watching, then you can connect them to the projector.
otherwise you may need to get a cheap digital set top box and tune to the same tv program, and use the video output to feed the projector

Cant get picture to come up on screen? We had it working at one time but cant seem to figure out how now. We are using a HDMI cable. thanks

1. ensure the projector is set to video and not another source eg. computer. this will ensure it is receiving to the correct connector.

2.ensure the transmitted signal is able to be received on another device such as tv or dvd recorder. if not suspect cable or settings on transmitter.

3 if a home cinema system is between the tranmitted signal and the projector ensure that it is on and it is set to the right setting.

i hope this helps

Rx-v1900 hdmi hdtv problem

On most modern receivers you must select which signal type you want it to process.

for example on my Denon, I have to go into the on screen menu and select the input I want ie: video 1.Then tell it which signal I want it to use ie: s-video, component or HDMI input for video and then which input corresponds to the audio signal for that component ie: analog, digital, optical or hdmi.

Its complicated and a pain in the ****

Hopefully that helps call Yamaha they will usually walk you through the process while on the phone.

I want to watch a sporting event outside on a big screen using a projector. How do I view the live broadcast from my TV through a projector?

the best way
u need to get external video card (it cost's around 15$ or 20euros)
with this u can watch cable tv or satelite tv on ur lap top or pc
the next step is to plug projector to pc, lap top etc.
that's all
If u don't have cable or satelite, there are many sites on web where u can watch tv for free, if u perfer this way u don't need video card, but picture won't be so great also...
i'll writh u down one of the free tv internet sites

There are colour flashes when i watch black and white films on my infocus projector.Usaualy if i look a way from the screen for a second or as if i'm blinking

Hello,
By any chance is your source PAL?
What you are describing is caused by a slower frame rate ie. PAL accompanied by the natural persistence of the human eye. If you reduce the brightness level or turn a light on you will be able to reduce these artifacts.

You would hate watching TV in Europe ;)

Connecting Lenovo Tablet to Sony XBR TV

Hi swampole,
You'll need to purchase a Sony Location Free base station and software (included). Try this link:
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchCatalog?storeId=10151&langId=-1&catalogId=10551&in_dim_search=&keyword=location+free&gobutton.x=0&gobutton.y=0

The Sony Location Free base station can transmit your TV, or most any video signal for that matter, to your laptop as long as it has the Location Free software installed, wi-fi capability, and is within range. It can also transmit your programming over the web so you can watch via broadband and not even need to be home! The only drawback I have experienced is that if the signal is not strong enough, there is a choppiness to the video stream (not unlike watching videos online sometimes), and there is a 4 second delay due to encryption/decryption, but this really does not matter if you're not watching a "live" feed.
I have installed these units for clients and use one as well from time to time to watch TV from rooms without one. Good luck and hope this helps!

RCA HDTV HAS COLOR SPLIT ON SCREEN GREEN & RED

I HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I WAS LUCKY, MY TV WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THEY SENT IT TO BE FIXED. THEY REPLACED 2 CONNECTORS FROM THE PROJECTOR AND THE ON/OFF BUTTON. THE WIRES WERE NOT TRANSMITTING THE SIGNAL/ OR A SHORT IN IT. THEY REPLACE THEM ALSO. IT WOULD TAKE MY TV ABOUT 2 MINUTES TO TURN ON. THE COLORS WERE OFF. AND I HAD DOUBLE OR TRIPLE VISION. THEY ALSO REPLACE A FUSE IN THE PROJECTOR PART OF THE TV. THE FUSE ITS SELF COST ABOUT 275.00 WITH OUT LABOR. I DIDN'T PAY A THING I WAS ONE WEEK SHY OF MY WARRANTY TO BE OVER. EMAIL ME IF U THINK THIS HELPED. THANKS [email protected]
