Unfortunately the last driver that Microtek released for this device was for Windows XP. I'm posting the link to Microtek's support page for this device below. You may be able to contact Microtek directly (contact info is on the support page) for a possible workaround.

I can`t install my Lifecam VX2000

Hello!
Please, check if your Operating System is compatible with your camera, because if not you will have to update.
  • Start>right click Computer>Properties; you will see the first line "Windows Edition" under which you can see which is your Operating System and all the information about it.
  • The camera you have is compatible with Windows 7, but can also work with at least Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista.
  • If your Operating System is older then the above, you will have to update: go to www.microsoft.com and click on downloads, choose your program (XP, Vista, et.), and in the first tab after loading the page you will see the latest update (for example: If XP, you will see download tab for Service Pack 3; if Vista, you will see download tab for Service Pack 2)
  • You can also update using Windows Update: Start>type Windows Update in the search box>Enter>Check for Updates. Install updates and restart your computer.
  • If you do not have the driver for installing your camera, please go to
http://www.howtosetupwebcam.com/news/Microsoft-LifeCam-VX-2000

and see video on how to install your camera. You can also download the driver, BUT make sure you choose the right one for your Operating System-compare drivers on the site and your System info (see step 1).

Good luck!
Regards!

What Does It Mean When Support for My Operating System Ends?

Microsoft Support for Windows Vista (with no service packs installed) ended on April 13, 2010, while support for Windows XP (without Service Pack 3 installed) ended on July 13, 2010. Windows 2000 support ended on July 13, 2010 as well.
There is no Service Pack 3 for the 64-bit version of Windows XP. If you're running the 64-bit version of Windows XP with SP2, you have the latest service pack and will continue to be eligible for support and receive updates until April 8, 2014.
If you are still running a version of Windows where support has ended, it means that version of Windows will no longer receive any updates from the Windows Update or Microsoft Update site. These updates are generally provided for security reasons to help protect the PC from harmful viruses, spyware, malware, and other malicious software. Windows Update also provides new drivers for your hardware that can improve the reliability of Windows.
Hackers love to take a security vulnerability in Windows and exploit it to their advantage. So, if a vulnerability is found in Windows XP or Windows Vista and you are not running the latest service pack, you will not be protected and will be at risk.

How Can I Tell What Service Pack is Installed?
Follow these steps to discover what Service Pack is installed:
1) Click on the Start Button
2) Right-click on either My Computer or Computer (depending on your Windows version)
3) Click on Properties
On this window, it should tell you which version of Windows along with which service pack is installed). It should also tell you whether you are running a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows.

Is a Windos Vista driver available for Artec e+ Pro flatbed scan

No there is NO suitable driver for hardware this old.... Here is how to Install them so they work. Download your XP driver you wish to install. If it's in a zip/rar file then extract it to your desktop. You should have a simple .exe file sitting on your desktop to install the drivers, as normal for XP. Right click the .exe file and select "Properties". Then select the tab called "Compatibility" Now check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Make sure "Windows XP Service Pack 2" is highlighted. OR Windows ME, 2000 etc. Now apply the settings and run the installer. This should work for most drivers, but not all

Pro tools m-powered problem

You may need to check to see which "service pack" you are currently on.

See below requirements:

System Software — Windows XP & Vista
  • Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition
    • 32-bit OS Installation Only
  • Windows XP Professional or Home Edition
    • With Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3

  • Not Supported:
    • Windows Vista 64-bit (any version)
    • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
    • Windows XP Media Center Edition
    • Windows 98, Me, 2000, NT, 95, 3.1, DOS

  • Not Tested:
    • Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition
    • Although Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition have not been tested or qualified by Digidesign, there are currently no known issues with Vista Home and Home Premium 32-bit operating systems and Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 compared to the supported Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition operating systems.

Windows Vista SP1
There are currently no known issues with Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista based on our initial limited testing and customer feedback. Although full qualification with all Digidesign products has not been completed, we do not recommend against updating to SP1, given the number of important overall system fixes in SP1. We do recommend that you backup your system and create a restore point before updating to SP1, should you encounter any problems after installing the update.

Hello guys....i have Vista basic installed on my compaq C 740 TU laptop.....i wish to install windows Service Pack 3 on my machine.....but whenever i insert the XP cd and boot from it.....it fails to...

From what you're saying I get that you want to install Windows XP with Service Pack 3 on your computer. Are you wanting to replace Vista, or do you want a dual boot system? Do you have a Vista CD as well if you want a dual boot system? Did you receive any other disc's with the computer that may have a driver set on it?
