How can i use my cam on my notebook even not on line?

Many notebook computers come with a built-in camera that enables you to take photos and do video chats with friends and family. These devices also come with built-in software that allows you to turn the camera on from your Start Menu and customize the picture and sound quality. Although doing a video chat isn't quite the same as being there in person, it is the next best thing.

1.Click on the Start Menu in Windows in the lower left corner. Go to "Programs" and locate the webcam software that came with your notebook.
2.Click on the program and a new window will appear. The camera will start up and you will appear in the window.
3.Adjust the video and audio by going to "Tools" on the menu at the top of the screen and then "Options." You can change the contrast, brightness, hue and saturation here. You can also change the microphone settings.

I hope you may find it very helpful. Thanks.

Hi...Im Tiffany and I have a Kodak Easy share C195 Im trying to download pics and some of them will not download. There are still pics on my camera that I cannot download to the computer. Is it something...

Hey Tiffany,
Most digital cameras will show up as an extra drive letter in Windows My Computer icon, and it might also show the name of the camera or even Kodak.
If you double click on that drive then you should see you pictures there, that would then allow you to drag and drop them from the drive to say your Windows desktop icon screen or any other folder which your' trying to place them in.

My sea gate external hard drive can not open and my computer can not read it

Using the windows disk management utility. This will tell you if the hard drive is connecting to the computer or if it is a hardware problem. Sometimes, power cycling the external and restarting the computer will help. Below are the directions for using this utility:

Right click on you "My Computer" Icon

A menu will open

Chose "Manage"

The Computer Management window will open

The Computer Management window is broken down into 3 sections.

The first section on the left side of the window shows a menu. Disk Management is on the lower portion of the menu.

The right side is separated into two sections, top and bottom. The top portion shows a list of active drives on the computer. The lower portion shows all drives connected to the computer. CD or DVD drives that have not disk will not show as active drives on the top section, but can be seen in the lower section.

The lower section will show the drive description, drive size and drive condition (online or off line) in small box on the left side of that section. Disk drives will designate a "Drive" and a number. Drive 0 is usually your internal hard drive. Then it would list drive 1, drive 2, etc, depending on how many internal and external drive sources you have connected to your computer. Then it will list your CD drives and generally show their drive letter assignments.

Next to the smaller section described above, is a larger section which shows the driver letter, size of the driver and condition (if working correctly will show "healthy")

This is the area you can right click and get a menu that will allow you to open, explore, mark the partition as active, change the driver letter, format the drive or delete a partition. (A note of caution here. Changing the driver letter on your main hard drive partition will cause windows to stop functioning. The main hard drive, or hard drive partition, is normally given the letter "C".) A hard drive may show two or more partitions with separate drive letters designated for each partition.

A drive that is having a problem may show that it needs to be formatted (status as Unformatted). This can be done from this window. An external drive, whether it is a hard drive or CD/DVD drive, can have the letter designator change done if you want to organize your external drives. There are times when a drive will not show up because the drive letter that they are programmed to use are taken. Most USB drives are programmed to us the letters "F" or "G". In this area, you can assign the USB drive any drive letter that is not being used and this will make it visible in windows.

Please remember to post positive feedback if this solution was helpful. If not, please let me know and I will assist your further.

Thank You,

Brian

In everio media browser i try to change the "library destination" settings to point to a network drive but get the message "invalid destination respecify a different folder". Are network destinations...

No, they're not allowed, but I've found you can change it manually in the registry. Always be careful changing the registry. Mistakes can break Windows!
First, make sure the network share is mapped to a drive letter:
  1. Open "My Computer".
  2. Open the "Tools" menu and select "Map Network Drive...".
  3. Select a drive letter (eg. "V:" for video), type the path to the network video folder (eg. "\\Server\Videos"), and press "OK".
  4. You should now have a drive letter showing exactly what's in your network video folder.
  5. Create a folder on the network share to receive the videos (eg. "V:\Everio MediaBrowser").
Next, modify the Everio MediaBrowser settings.
  1. Open the Windows "Start" menu and press "Run...".
  2. Type "regedit" and press "OK".
  3. Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ PIXELA\ Everio MediaBrowser\ IMXLIBRARY
  4. Double-click the "SAVEPATH" entry, change the value to a path using the drive letter you created above (eg. "V:\Everio MediaBrowser"), and press "OK". This folder must exist, so create it if you haven't already
  5. Select the "SAVEPATH2" entry and press "Delete". This prevents MediaBrowser from deciding a local drive is a better destination.
  6. Close the program.
Now you can download video into the library on the network.
  1. Plug in your camcorder.
  2. Select "Playback on PC".
  3. When MediaBrowser starts, press Backup at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Select the volumes to backup and press "Next".
  5. MediaBrowser should now say the destination is the network drive. Press "Next".
I have not attempted to import existing videos from a network share yet. That could be another challenge.

Computer does not regognise the external hard drive. it does not say that it is there, even though it is plugged in. What can i do i have tried unplugging and replugging. It used to be called F driveCan...

First, it is important to know what operating system you have, and you have all the drivers installed, if Windows Vista, XP or OSX, in any case, you must have operating system updated with the latest version of ServicePac, usually this solves the recognition external devices.

The screen lights up da apple thingy but doesnt do anything else

Hi, This should work out:

Changing the drive letter of your network volume should resolve the issue. If you are unable to change the drive letter of the network volume because your programs depend on a specific drive letter, then you can use the following steps to change the drive letter of your iPod instead.
Change the Drive Letter
  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Double click on Administrative Tools. Note: If you don't see Administrative Tools, look at the left column in Control Panel for a link that says, "Switch to Classic View," and click it.
  3. Double click on Computer Management.
  4. In the left column, click on Disk Management.
  5. Locate the iPod and right click on it, then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.

  6. Click the Change button.

    ts1493_2.jpg
  7. Use the drop-down menu to select a new drive letter. Note: Make sure to choose a new drive letter that is not already assigned to a network drive. The drop-down menu will display all available letters that are not assigned to a physical drive. Drive letters that are assigned to a network volume will still be listed here. It is also a good idea to assign a drive letter other than a, b, c, or d, as these letters are usually reserved for other system drives.

    ts1493_3.jpg
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Yes on the confirmation dialog.

    ts1493_4.jpg
  10. Close the Computer Management window.
  11. Restart your computer.

Olympus s P-550UZ,

Turn the camera dial to the letter P on the mode dial. Then go to the Menu and left arrow over to Reset and press Ok. You will see Reset Yes or No. Highlight Yes and press Ok. This will reset the camera to all of its factory default settings. The zoom feature should be working again.
