Set bios boot options to boot from cd
insert cd and press any key to start from cd when prompted
press enter when asked to install or repair or quit
wait for the blue installation screen to appear and press F8 when prompted to accept terms
on the installation screen press enter to install windows on the selected partition or D to delete an existing partition. (for a clean install on a previously used drive, use the latter and redefine your partition)
also: if you wish to use more than 1 partition, define the extra partitions as well
format the partition(s) as ntfs and proceed with these settings by pressing enter
setup will now start and reboot after it's finished, keep watching the status bar or get a drink, this takes a while
after setup has completed, windows will start and prompt you with some more settings like input language, account setup etc, follow the on screen instructions, nothing can go wrong from here.
This worked for me:

I have to ad, that if putting the cd in to your computer and restarting it doesn't give you an option to install the windows xp, you should go to bios by pressing "del" key on your keyboard just after you reboot and altering the boot priority from bios. (it's different in some computers, so i can't give you the details, but you can browse around for the boot device priority setting, and if you are afraid that you have changed something that you didn't want to you can always just reboot without saving)
