SOURCE: Tape Stuck

I've checked the entire user manual which notes problems like this need to be referred to authorized service personnel. Myself, I would unplug the entire unit, put it on a kitchen table using a phillips (cross-tip) screwdriver to remove the top metal shell. Remove at least 2 screws each side and 2-5 rear screws securing the top. Nothing like peering inside to see what is causing the VCR to get stuck and help remove it. No release pinhole or tape freeing ejector will work if the unit's tape is tightly wound around some internal object or the tape is stuck because something foreign is inside the unit. Cannot get VHS tape to eject. Keep getting F03 or F06 codes. Have unplugged, used reset button, etc. HELP...!

If all else fails...you may have to go inside and take a look. I had this happen to me and I found that a piece of plastic had somehow gotten into the moving parts. Remember to first UNPLUG the unit and don't touch any of the electronic parts/pieces. You're just looking at the VHS mechanical parts. Now that you're inside, if you can with any level of confidence...plug the unit in and try ejecting the tape. Watch for anything hanging up all the moving parts that eject the tape.
If you're at all not comfortable working around something like this with live power then DON'T DO IT! Take it to have it looked at.

But if you are OK doing this sort of thing, hopefully you'll see some piece of junk has fallen into the tape area and it jamming up the workings!

Good luck!

A VHS tape is in the recorder but will not eject. The flap opens when eject key is pressed, the cassette comes up, does not come forward, and then goes back down. The recorder then switches itself off.

Hi, the problem is the tape has got chewed up inside the video the only way your going to get it out is by taking the case of but dont do this whilst its plugged in.

you need to take the tape off and you may have to cut the tape so you can put the case back on and switch it on so the tape will eject, you need to get what ever is keeping it stuck free, the chances are the tape has got chewed up around the drive and this will need cutting free to allow the tape to come out.

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks.

you could try fast forwarding a bit or rewinding a bit then try ejecting but failing that your going to need to take the case off to free the tape

Panasonic DMR-EZ47V Error Code F03

I saw this same issue. I would unplug and plug in the DVD and it would still show error code F03.

It turns out that one of my kids had shoved a couple of small objects inside the VHS opening and it was blocking the operation. I removed the objects and it works fine.

This error code is not listed in the manual that came with the DVD player.

I guess either the tape head is dirty and needs cleaning or you should email Panasonic with that question after reading the instruction guide's troubleshooting section.

Error Code F03

What worked for us when we saw F03? Taking the toothbrush out of the VCR! I kept resetting the unit and nothing worked. Finally, I decided to see what would happen if I stuck a tape in. It wouldn't go in because of the toothbrush! I took it out, reset the unit again and it was fixed.

Maybe the error is not F03, but FO3 meaning there is a FOREIGN OBJECT stuck in the VCR.
