There are what are called door "cams" on the bottom of the doors. One piece is on the bottom of the door and the other one is on the hinge. Both pieces need to be replaced and it is possible both your doors may need them. The parts come as a hinge assembly. That means you need to replaced the hinges on the bottom and they should come with the piece that goes on the bottom of the door also. You may also have a blocked defrost drain. There is a hole in the center rear, under the evap plate there where you see the dripping. that may need some air pressure blown through it to clear it. remeber, ever time the unit defrost, you will get that water.

Why is there water in the bottom of my fridge

Depending on your fridge and age there is a drain line inside or on the back of your unit. It could either be clogged or frozen. Again depending on your fridge you may be able to take the panel out in the back of your freezer and defrost the line. Basically your unit will go into a defrost cycle to melt any ice off your coils in your freezer to prevent any ice build up. It is controlled by a defrost timer and there is a heating element below the coils. It could be a freak thing or you may need to check the defrost timer or heating element. Also make sure you have a good seal on all door gaskets. Check that by putting a piece of paper in the door when it's closed it should have a little resistance when you pull it out.

LG gn253sqa electro cool- temp. control lights in fridge keep flashing and fridge not cooling so good, help?

This has happened to me a couple of times. The problem is that when the fridge door is opened too may times the warm air of summer will block the cold outlets in the fridge with ice.The cold air comes direct from the freezer and the chamber connecting to the fridge clogs up with ice. What one has to do is completely empty the fridge and freezer, leave open both doors so the the ice build-up can melt. Then after about at least 4-5 hours (very important to stick by this time-frame as I tried a less time, but it did not work.),close both the freezer and fridge doors and switch it on.After about 1/2 hour replace your goods in the fridge. The down-side of this is that you will need the kindness of a neighbor or two to use their fridge to store your food whilst this fix is underway..

Red light on for High Freezer Temperature Warning
or freezer not cooling, but fridge is and a lot of noise from compressor.
Also, fridge drain hole blocked, water in bottom of fridge.

This is a common fault in Hotpoint Fridge Freezers and can also happen if the door has been left open or has been a power cut.

1. Turn off fridge freezer, or at least turn down the freezer temp to minimum, though not ideal.
2. Open freezer door and remove all drawers.
3. Remove the back panel on the inside of the freezer. This is held in place with 4 screws, which might be 6mm hex head or star allen head. Pull the panel out.
4. Behind where the panel was, there is a cooling element for cooling, pipes, and below this a temperature sensor. If the fridge freezer is not switched off, then fold together a few layers of tinfoil and wrap around the sensor.
5. Use a hairdryer to slowly melt the ice. Melt it around areas where it appears to be hanging on, such as the corners of the cooling element or bolts, as well as any thin sections below the main block of ice around the cooling element, which will be supporting the main block. Use a plastic ice scraper to remove ice but not near pipes or sensor.
Warning: Be careful using electrics around water & melting ice & drips.
6. Below the cooling element, there is a drip channel & drain hole. If this hole is full of ice, pour a small amound of warm water down, leave for 10 seconds and pour a bit more until clear.
In the fridge, clear the drain hole in the same way.
Warning: Do not pour a lot of water down, as this water drains onto a tray above the hot compressor at the rear of the fridge freezer to be evaporated by the heat of the compressor and the tray will only hold a small amount.
7. When all ice is removed, dry all moisture. Put the shelves back. Close door. Turn on fridge freezer. Turn up the freezer temperature to your normal setting. Turn on fast freeze if available. After 1 hour, check with a thermometer. It should be cold enough after 1 or 2 hours.

Samsung Model SR 21 NME. The freezer is on the top, this freezers fine, but the fridge isnt even cool. We have taken the back off the freeze to do a complete defrost. The fan works fine. But the ttemp dial...

Inside the fridge compartment, at the back, is a panel that can be removed, remove the screws careful with the bulb, its plugged in behind the panel.

the panel has a vent that allows cold air flow from the freezer, this will often freeze completely shut with ice. let it thaw out, then check to see that the vent opens, or closes when you turn the dial, the best thing is to open it as wide as possible, I even used toothpicks to open the valve even more, its just a thin flap, surrounded by Styrofoam.

afterwards if your fridge is too cold, adjust the real thermostat located in the freezer.

My refrigerator turned my bottled water to ice 2 days ago and I set the temp. control down a notch. Now there is no cooling even after I turned the Temp. control up. It is not completely warm inside but I...

A few things could be wrong,The first thing to check is the damper in the fridge section and make sure it is opening and closing properly. It is located to left isde of the fridge compartment turn the unit off completly and you should here it close you may need to remove the cover and check for ice build up that would restrict the movement.

Then you need to look inside the freezer compartment on the lower portion and look for any ice build up.if you see ice build up you can use a blow dryer to defrost the back wall so you can remove the lower portion and defrost the evaporator coils.

You will need to check the defrost heating element and make sure it is in good shape if you have a ohm meter make sure it has continuity if it does not then it needs to be replaced.

Then you will also need to make sure the evaporator fan is working properly.
the last thing that would be a problem is the defrost circuit not cycling properly or a bad thermostat control.

My Maytag fridge is not working, but my freezer works fine. What do I do? The freezer is on the bottom, with the fridge being on top

Hi
Do you have any ice cream in the freezer? If it is soft than the freezer is also too warm. If you do not have icecream then you will need a thermometer to check freezer temps. Freezer needs to be 10 degrees F or colder down to -10. fridge should be 34-38... Sometimes freezer temps can seem cooler than they are with out a thermometer to test it. Also look for frosting up inside the freezer. Check that your door seals are in good condition. check that doors are closing completely.
Please let me know If I can help further.
