If you want you have two options when it comes to setting up your accounts on the phone: The first is to reformat the phone and enter in all of your information The second is to simply delete the old account information and put in your own.
In Idle mode, open the application list and select Email. Enter your email address and password. Select Next (for general email accounts) or Manual setup (for other company email accounts). 4 Follow the on-screen instructions.
When you are finished setting up the email account, the email messages are downloaded to your device. If you have created more than two accounts, you can switch between email accounts; Press [ ] ? Accounts and select one you want to retrieve messages from.

I bought a LG 4GLTE....keeps saying this device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google account that was previously synced on this device. How can I get past this?

This is an activation lock through Google. Basically, the device was factory reset, and there was a PIN or SWIPE lock screen and a Google account on the device when it was factory reset.

As a layer of protection and to ensure the phone is not stolen, it is looking for you to enter the Google account that the device was ORIGINALLY set up with. If you know the Gmail login, but need to reset the password, you will not be able to login to the phone for 72 hours AFTER the password reset.

If you do not know the login, there is no way to bypass this screen. You would need to get the Gmail account information from the original owner.

*Note that I'm using a dutch language on my phone so the terms I used are guessed translations, actual buttons might have a somewhat different text on your phone.

Occasionally Google Gmail user may want to reset the password which used to login into the Gmail account via web, POP3 and IMAP as the original password has been forgotten, or misplaced. Basically, you just have to log back in to your gmail. Open your Gmail App and login, that should fix it.

If you just bought the phone and the gmail account associated to the phone isn't yours. You need to delete that account and create a new one. Follow these steps in adding/deleting gmail account to your galaxy s:

1. Press 'Menu'
2. Tap on 'Settings'
3. Tap on 'Accounts and Sync'
4. To delete:
tap on the Account and Hit Remove Account
To Add:
- Tap on Add Account.
5. Select on Gmail and add your details.
