Question about JVC Cybercam GR-D72 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I just had this problem and was going to replace the camcorder. My husband took the lens cap off, placed the camera in the sun for about an hour then flicked (not banged or beat - just a light tapping) and now its working. He said condensation, dust, lack of use, etc may have made the lense stick. Good luck!

Try removing the battery, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. That may reset the lens cap sensor.
