Click here to download the user's guide and go to page # 21 to clear the V chip settings to factory default. That should clear the password.

How do I get a DTV signal on my vizio

Connect a TV aerial/antenna that is known to be aligned correctly for your local TV stations.

On the TV remote, press the TV/DTV button. This will toggle between the old style analogue tuner and the newer DTV tuner. Then you need to run the TV Tuning wizard.

Without connecting the aeriel to the labgear i get 77 tv channels and some music channels but when i put it through the labgear i only get 21 tv channels why am i losing my signal i have put a annuater in...

An attenuator reduces all signals. Attenuators are often used when you are close to a transmitter that causes interference to other stations. By knocking the signals down, the strong signal is less likely to interfere with the other stations, while the other station's signals will be reduced too - many can now be tuned and viewed. This comes with the risk that some stations that had a signal that was just over the threshold of being tuned and watched no longer have a signal level that passes through the attenuator. This is what is happening in your situation.

Determine if you can watch stations you like without the attenuator. If so, do not reinstall it. If you find that some of the stations are being interfered with by another station - see if you can change the amount of attenuation in the device. Some attenuators are adjustable and make this easy to do. If yours is not adjustable, you might consider purchasing an adjustable type - as the one you have is not suitable.

Lastly, consider installing a rotatable antenna. This will allow you to aim the antenna directly at the broadcaster's antenna - allowing you to reject signals not in the same direction. This should reduce your interference from other strong signals that originate from a different direction. This will also increase the signal strength from all transmitters as you can point your antenna directly as the antenna - instead of capturing signals from the side or back of your antenna.

I hope this helps and good luck! please rate my reply. thank you.

Put a password on tv and forgot ... is there a way of erasing the code?

Hate to have to tell you but....

Due to security reasons, passwords can only be changed in the web admin interface. If you forget the admin password, the NAS would have to be reset by a service technician.
If you have access to the web admin interface...
All passwords can be changed in the User list (Share -> User). Click the User ID to change the password.

Quote from there website.

Good Luck. I would just give them a call.

TV guide abruptly stopped receiving information

Off-Air reception (Antenna) of TV Guide comes from a supplier called Rovi (formally known as Macrovision, Gemstar). They have supplied your local CBS affiliate with a TV Guide application known as SCTE 127 or VBI in MPEG. Follow these steps until you have found a solution to the TV Guide - No Information Available.

1. Check to see if your local CBS station is coming in clearly not tiling.

2. Reset your TV Guide through your TV Guide Menu, for more information copy and paste the link below. (What usually works for me is setting up the guide by putting in 99999 for the zip code then answer all other questions. After it says your TV will receive the guide in 24 hours then setup the guide as you normally would with your zip code).

3. Contact your local CBS affiliate engineer and see if they are having problems with the TV Guide transport stream i.e. SCTE 127 or VBI in MPEG

FYI if you get your service from a Cable TV company they will have to pass this information through their system commonly referred to as Passing PIDS.

Pixels aren't refreshing correctly in upper right hand side of screen

You might have a Service Co. come out and look at it. It sounds like the Z module is not doing it's job of erasing all prior images after a scene change. Some models there are adjustments for that internally. ( only for a tech ) Start a paper trail now.
