My son's PS3 won't play new games. What is the problem?

Take it back and get a new one.

A portion of your blu-ray laser has gone out, the ONLY way you can fix it is by swapping out the blu-ray laser with a new one.

thanks for getting in touch, i'm afraid the hard drive was at fault, my sons' decided to upgrade to a new slim line ps3.

take apart the ps3 and clean the laser lens with a que tip if this doesnt fix it you may need a new blu-ray drive that you can ussually find on ebay for $50 ish, just make sure when swapping it your carefull with the logic board attached to your current blu-ray drive as you have to use this with the new drive because ps3 locks each logic board to each ps3.

did he get the game off ebay or from overseas. If so they wont work in certain regions

make a new profile on your ps3 and it will work.....my son has hes own profile on my ps3 and the game works fine but when i swap back to me own profile the game freezes...very strange!!!!!!

you need 2 delete data or get a memory stick
