I have a Maytag Performa gas stove, the burners work fine, but the oven wont come on at all, the ignitors glow, but it doesn't seem to be getting any gas??

just because the ignitor is glowing doesn't mean it still isn't bad.you need an amp meter with a clamp on it,stick one of the wires into the clamp,if it's a flat ignitor it should read 3.2 amps,if it's round i believe it's 2.5 amps.if it doesn't get the correct amps it won't let the gas into the burner tube.you say the ignitors glow,do you mean the broil doesn't work also?if so you could have a bad gas valve or the clock could be bad, there's a computer board in the clock assy.on some of the machines.next time send the model number, open the bottom draw and you should see a tag with the model and serial number on the frame that the draw covers when it's closed.check this site out it should help you...... Stove top ignitors do not ignite but oven does.

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

Oven appears to start, takes forever to preheat,

This is what I would do: I would unplug the range and connect my test cord to your range cord. I use an ammeter along with my test cord to read the amp draw of the bake ignitor. If it cannot get above 3.5 amps I know the ignitor is bad or weak. Since the oven is working that means there is a good circuit. In order for the safety bi-metal to open the amp draw must reach 3.5 amps or better. So to me I am thinking bad ignitor. To get to it I remove the door oven racks and bottom, I then remove the flame spreader and unplug the quick connect to the ignitor. I remove the burner and ignitor and replace the ignitor on a work bench. I am too old to be bending over and trying to do any parts replacement inside an oven. LOL. I have a training film which shows how the silicone carbide ignitor works HERE. Post a model number and I may have a service manual, do not forget to rate the answer.

Our potfiller flooded the top of our 48inch range. At first the burners wouldn't work but they dried out in 30 minutes and work fine. The large oven locked itself and both ovens wont light up.

If the front of the range {where the control panel is} got wet it may be the ERC, but I would give the ignitors in the oven another day or so to dry before doing anything

How do you light the pilot on a GE stove The top of the stove works

Hi, If this model has a standing pilot, use a lighter and put the flame to the back center next to the burner assembly. Most newer models have electric ignitors now. It is fastened to the burner assmbly on the laft side.
If this an electric ignitor, turn the oven on and see if the ignitor glows. These ignitors are a very common problem and will probavly need replaced.
Please let me know if I can assist youu further.

Sf195lehz5 free standing gas oven,

Check both gas valve solonoids for 216 ohms [blue broiler wire to the orange common and red oven wire to orange common] both must be ok.

Check oven temp sensor for 1080 ohms.

If above are ok then the problem is either the spark module or the control board.

Since the gas valve was not opening and there was not ignitor sound I replaced the spark module for about $90. You have a 50-50 chance of being right.

My range is relitively new and I'm haveing an oven light problem which I traced to the control board so I may replaced this board to for about $200.

Top oven bake igniter comes on, but gas does not.

Check the voltage on the 2 wires going to the oven gas valve. If you get 120v when the ignitor is on with no gas coming out, you have a bad gas valve. If you get voltage, but it is not much, it is the ignitor. The ignitors don't burn out completely on the ovens, they just get a little dim and no longer ignite the gas and eventually will not turn on the gas valve
