Question about Canon PowerShot SD550 / IXUS 750 Digital Camera

Cannon IXUS 750

Hi, for a few days I’m reading about problems with some Cannon digital cameras and I can't help my self so I decided to ask for some help. The problem is that I gave my son the camera to make some pictures and few minutes later the camera lens were stuck. When he turns the cam on and the lens are getting out he pushed them 3 times back and than they still out. I saw some files from here how to get to the lens mechanism but mine is different so if you can give me some advice I’ll be very greatfull.

Hi

A couple solutions would be to either buy a defective camera online and make one good camera from the two if you can do that sort of thing yourself, or secondly have it repaired by somebody.

Don't bother trying to send the camera to Canon if it is out or warranty (though you can call them and verify what I'm about to say) because they will want $150+ to do the repair for you. Parts are not cheap to buy from them.

I know of one very affordable digital camera repair business... because I own it. The name is Darntoothysam, feel free to check us out, we are on that big auction website also (I don't plug their name for free), our seller ID is 'darntoothysam'. If you google "darntoothysam" you will find us.

We have your repair listed as a package in our store for about $70. This covers a new lens, and return shipping of your camera! We even give a 45 day warranty on parts and labor. If you think you can use us then please check us out, even if you need to ask more questions then please feel free to contact me.

Hope this helps,

Thomas

In sd 750 cannon. when we lock the battery and momery card gate. there is a small huck which is broken.. can it be repaired

Do you really need to repair it? If so, you need to be asking around your local camera shops, not here where we cannot physically see the damage. I used to have a similar problem, but I just taped it, as I could charge the battery and download from the card while they were in the camera.

Canon digital ixus 750... problems with flash

Your flash or mainboard are bad, only way to know which is to replace one and see if it starts working.

If you can't find a suitable parts donor camera online please let us know, we can get boards for only about $45.

Cannon SD 750 - when i try to take a picture a black screen appe

Think that you accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

Remove the card and look for a tiny slide switch on the side of the card. Slide it to the other "unlocked" position, and reinsert it in the camera.

I have owned several Cannon brand cameras (not this particular model) and have always been very happy with them. I would support the purchase of any Cannon product.

cnet gives this camera a good review.
