Hi my infrared remote control did not work from one day to the next. I tried each bugfixing from the operators manual. I changed batteries and the position to the receiver (receiver: sr4021). Are ther probably some button combinations on the infrared control panel which can connect it. How can i test whether the infrared control panel is damaged.?
They also sell replacement remotes but I'd also look on eBay as they are always cheaper. I've seen whole systems WITH the remote that are cheaper than a replacement remote alone.

First of all, thank you for posting your question here at Fixya. Please ensure that the battery is in good condition. Check the battery terminal for corrosion, Scratch it with fine sandpaper. If the battery and its terminal is not the issue, please confirm if the remote control emits an infrared by pointing directly the sensor (infrared emitter) to your cellphone/digital camera. If it is working fine, you will be able to see the flash of the infrared through the screen of your camera. Watch the video below.
If you've confirmed that there's no infrared coming out from the remote control then this is an indication that the remote control itself is already faulty. Replace it with new one (part no. 0980-0305-3300 ). If you can see the flash of the infrared, the IR board inside the TV is faulty. Please inquire at this link for replacement. Hope I helped you. Good luck and have a great day! Jdvillanueva

2 common causes of malfunction remote control... first,is low battery or empty...if you have a multimeter tester set it to dc and check the voltage of your battery if it is on empty or low battery condition replace it
and secondly, when the infrared is defective...how can you determine?..if you have any digital cameras get it and point it to the top view of your remote then try to look the infrared bulb (LED)then press any button to activate the remote after look at your camera while pressing the remote if you see infrared lights up for every pressed..your remote is OK..if it is not lights up and your battery is good..replace the infrared to fix your problem
Turn tv on manually.Test the remote control all functions are dead or some functions work other don't?Tries take the remote control parts and clean the inner rubbers buttons between the rubbers insulater and the remote circuitries board and the battery connections + - connections with some rubbing alchahol. Then wait awhile like 20 mins and putting it back together again and putting in new battery in the remote,it might work again. If getting the same result than the remote CPU chip is probally dead, remote control devices are very depended on it CPU chip.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an original remote for the replacement.
Hello
You just check your remote control handset for its infrared emission. There is an infrared light emitting diode [LED], in front of your remote control handset from which infrared light rays are send to your TVs infrared sensor, fitted inside it, behind the infrared window on its front panel. Infrared rays are invisible to human eye. We can check if it is there by using a cellphone with camera option.
Put the cellphone in camera mode, and place your remote control's LED side towards its lens, for about a feet away or so, and when you push its each button, you can see an image in the phones' screen. If it is there, and still your TV don't work with remote control, TVs infrared sensor inside is faulty, and needs replacement.
If there is no infrared image from your remote control, you have to buy one new remote control. OK.
dont blame the receiver yet, the problem mostly comes from the remote control. it may be the infrared emiting problem. checkout if the infrared in the remote control is emited well. to see this infrared you can read the article at http://www.unique-stuff.co.cc/fixing_remote_control_check_infrared.html
