How to connect laptop (using internal wireless adapter) to a wireless network)

Make sure you have the correct Password exactly like it should be (case sensitive). If it is not correct, it will continue in the loop of trying to validate identity.

Also you can click Start/Control Panel/Network Connections then Right Click on the Wireless Connection and select Properties.

When the properties window opens click View Available Wireless Networks. Highlight your network by clicking on it then select Properties.

The Association tab will allow you to change the Network Authentication to WPA2-PSK if it is not set to that and if the adapter will accommodate it. And you can put in the Network Key or Password.

I would like to know when it say laptop with built in wireless. Does that mine i already got internet service on it. Or i have to buy USB modem.

Hello Blac,

All the laptops available in market have built in wireless 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 b/g/n Bluetooth® wireless networking. It means that you can access the internet via Wi-Fi or through Wi-Fi hotspots. In wireless connectivity you do not require the wired connection to access the internet. In home you can connect the laptop via wireless connection using the home networking router available in market. The advantage of wireless connection is that you can use the internet in your home anywhere with in 100 meters of range with proper wireless signals. You will require to get the internet connection from the ISP(Internet Service Provider).

Can't connect to internet on my IBM T40 think

You need to supply some more information, are you trying to connect wired or wirelessly? For either first see if your network adapters are installed. Right click on "my computer" either on desktop or start menu. Then choose properties then hardware then device manager this is slightly different depending on your operating system but you need to get into the "device manager" Google it if you cant find it. i.e "how to get into the device manager in windows vista" Once in look for the "network adapters" tab drop down the + sign and see if they are both listed and there are no "!" going thru them, if there are then you need to download drivers, if not and they are installed properly then to connect "wireless" you should see a series of bars by the clock on the right side of the taskbar some computers have a switch to turn the adapter on or off some have a key combination such as fn+f2 or f5 etc., there will be a wireless icon on the key to identify it. If on then when you left click on the bars you can choose veiw available networks, choose yours and highlight it and choose connect, if it is a secure network you will need your network key or passphrase. Wired: just plug it in to the ethernet port and it will try and connect to the network. If you are getting a limited or no connectivity icon you must reset your modem and router in this order. Disconnect (power) to your modem and router if cable unscrew coax cable also. all lights out screw cable back in, then power on your modem..WAIT for all lights to come on solid (with dsl the dsl light should be on and solid not blinking) once your modem is up then plug in your router wait for all lights to come on. Thsi should put your computer online. If not, open internet explorer then go to tools / internet options / lan settings make sure that proxy server is NOT checked. If it is uncheck it and choose "automatically detect settings" above it. Most likely if it was checked you have some rogue phony antispyware on there and your computer needs to be scanned for issues. one last thing you can always right click on the intenet icon by the clock and choose "repair" wired or wireless it will reset the adapter and correct the problem. I think I covered everything not knowing your OS

How to connect my dell dial up modum to lap top

Your dial up modem needs to be ab external modem.
You can not use an internal modem from another machine unless you create a network and share your connection.
If you have an external modem then connect the modem to the available port on your laptop and let plug and play take over. If you do not have a port on your laptop and you modem has a serial port you will need a usb to serial adapter which you can get at Radio Shack.

Unable to connect Acer One D250 netbook to 2wire modem. Limited or no connectivity. I can connect through wireless at work and hardwire.Comments: Dec 30, 2009- Netbook sees the network, has excellent...

Replace the Cable and Check.

If the problem still persists then

Give the same network setting to the wireless network adapter as you assigned to your local area connection.

Note: Before doing that remove the IP address of that Local area connection or change it's IP address to some other number.

This will most probably solve your problem.

Otherwise, Used an external USB Wireless Adapter.
