After the washing cycle is complete and the knob is in the off position, water continues to pour into the machine.

Our 80 series kenmore became unbalanced with a loud klunk. The metal shell came off the machine. It will not spin but will work on wash?

You may be able to find the problem by looking at the illustrated parts breakdown.
Sears maintains such drawing on nearly all of the brand names they sell and many more:

Enter your model number in the provided search window there.
There are also links on how to find the model number if you have trouble locating it.

I have a Kenmore Series 80 (8543549) top load washer. It will fill, but not agitate or spin or drain or anything else. The knob does not advance except manually. What component is causing this problem?

if its a top load which i believe a series 80 is,then you need to replace the lid switch to make it operate again, its located under the control panel, some can be replaced from the top,but some need to have the outer case removed to replace this switch

Kenmore Series 80 washing machine won't drain after wash cycle. The machine just stops.

Check the lid switch under the edge of the top where the lid closes. When you are about 1 inch from closing the lid you should here a little click sound. That is the switch closing. I fyou do not here the click then the switch is bad.

Kenmore 80 series leaking

well you can try filling the outer tub separately.with what you mentioned, the problem is certainly not with the drain hose or the pump. fill the tub separately with some water and if the leak is seen then the problem is certainly with the outer tub corrosion or crack on it.
