Every thing is working fine but no display as i changed the display & also checked the same display on another set it is working ok changed display ic but still same problem

Power off your computer and remove the smps 24 pin connector to the motherboard and short the green and black pin and see if the SMPS is working if not replace the smps.
Remove memory from the memory slot and switch on the computer if you hear beeps clean the memory or change it with new one that fixes the memory slot
If no beeps by removing the memory then remove the processor fan and clean it with soft cloth and apply thin layer of heat sink compound and switch on the computer
If you still not hear the beeps then change the processor
If still no beeps take the motherboard to a chip level Technion the secondary power supply or the clock, reset etc in the mother board has gone wrong or not producing them

My sons compaq presario cq50 wont run

Hi,

I could well be wrong, but my gut feeling is that your laptop is having memory issues. Start by accessing the memory and (carefully) removing it from its seating. Give it a quick check for dirt / dust etc and then re-seat it. If you have multiple memory modules, try swapping them round. Replace all covers and then restart the computer. Hopefully it's as simple as that. If not, you may need new memory, or alternatively the beep codes for your laptop refer to something different.

If you can get some Compaq support online, check that out for a dagnosis of the beep codes. That might point you in the right direction, assuming the above attempted solution is of no use.

Acer aspire 9300 black screen (display adapter)

I have been fixing computers that has long beeps and short ones. It is usually attributed to memory problem connection. Open the memory compartment at the back of the PC then detach the memory card. Clean with cloth softly enough not to destroy the circuit board or a pencil eraser to clean-up dust that caused the connection blockade. Reconnect after cleaning.

My Acer aspire 5500 don't power on, it bip continously after centrino logo display

If it is making beeps during the startup (called post for Power On Self Test) this is usually a memory error. You can try reseating the memory chips.

hi,

1, make sure that your laptop got power. how to do it ? it is easy, the power led (close to headphone jack) is on. and power button led should be on. Just in case you can't power on, please check ac adapter and power port on your laptop.

2. i assume you have power. now power it on and press f2 to got to bios. press f2 many times, it should make a beeps when you press it many times. once you get a beeps, press fn+right arrow to adjust the brightness of lcd. did you see something ? what i am looking is dark display.

If your display is dark, open the power cover (power cover is cover where you see power button), you need to remove 2 screws on that cover, on lcd hinges. After you remove power cover, you can see cable close to power button, remove it and check the display again, is it bright or still dark, if it is still dark it could be inverter or lcd.

if your power is on and you press f2 many times, it doesn't make beeps sound. it is called no post. Reseat memory and if this still not working, your motherboard is bad. if you have 2 memory installed, try 1 by 1. sometime the memory slot is bad, sometime memory is bad.

i hope this troubleshoot will help you to find out whats wrong with your laptop.
good luck

the vga board has failed, its a very common problem in acer laptops, you can get a replacement part from www.acerparts.com im not sure if they ship into us but for europe thats where I get my parts.
my acers vga failed two times, ones within warranty and 12months after that, I have to say that acer products are really bad quality, I'm not sure about the latest models but from what I've seen the vga chipsets have real issues with the motherboards and keep failing over and over again.

I have not looked inside your model but the vga is either integrated into the motherboard = that means the repair will cost the whole motherboard, better to buy a new one.

if your model has a removeable vga like mine does, then you can consider changeing it to a new one. contact acer parts.

One of the covers in the bottom is the memory, one is network and last one I don't remember.
here are the contact details if your acer is out of warranty
http://www.acerparts.com/contact_us.php

The parts for your model are at http://www.acerparts.com/index.php?cPath=561_562_1064

you will have to contact acer parts directly, it may be that the vga is build into the motherboard or then the vga parts are not listed.

Hope this may help;

It's probably motherboard or cpu. Most likely is bad motherboard.
But try to reseat the memory fist, sometime memory don't seat properly, it can cause that problem too.
