U have a soldering iron, desoldering pump or a roll of desoldering braids,a roll of solders? Can u do basic soldering and uderstand basic electronic?FBT- the flyback transformer, the big black block of a plastic with a red wire with a cap hook to a CRT-tv picture tube.Near the big block of a plastic with a red wire with a cap hook to a CRT picture tube.Inside to the right of the FBT,there are 2 power supply ICS,those 2 ICS are dead.Replaced these 2 power supply ICS near the FBT,will solved this tv LED power light indication blinking and will have stable tv power again, and tv will work.
Just went thru the same problem with my sony kv-34. There are two IC's on the D circut board located on the left side looking from the rear. If you can solder 18 pin IC's without making a mess it is possible. If you have a friend thats real good with a pencil tip solder device. I recomend putting sockets in where the IC's were as you won't have to worry about overheating stuff next to the IC's.Do a google search: Sony led flashes ad select the second hit in the list.
The 5 blinks indicates a White Balance Failure. This involves checking voltages and components tied directly to the CRT. I would not suggest any attempt for self repair. The cost for this repair should not be significant. Figure a parts cost in the $30-$50 range at worst.
Please provide more info.
1. Does the TV stay on, if so,
2. Is the LED flashing, how many times stop same number of times again
3. If TV goes to stanby, count the flashing LED.
4. If LED comes on goes off , at firsdt switch on. does it make a thumping noise.
When it shuts off. Try doing what's called a self-diagnostic test. As soon as the television shuts try these steps.
Pressing on the front panel's ?INPUT? and ?MENU? buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds, activates the Self Diagnostic Code Mode. The LED flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem has occured since the last Initalization.
Please do Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.
? The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code. ? The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second. ? The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code. ? The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times. Example: If the Error Code is ?24?, the LED will flash two times, pause, and then flash four times.
The Error Code designations indicating a malfunction, or no malfunction, are listed below: Self Diagnosic Code Description 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source).
