yes, you will need to buy the upgrade either online to download or by CD but a word of advice if the computer is for personal use windows vista would be better and if its for business Xp its better

When I try to play Axis and Allies cd-rom '98 it's like the screen is too small for the game because there is no buttons or anything that allows me to end my turn. My monitor is pretty big too.

Get a converter or USB 2.0 power adapter. or else use your printer on network sharing.. thats would be the best way,.

Once it is installed on Windows XP you can change the setting in properties to run Windows 98 compatible. It used to work with older scanners and printers. Try it out.

You probably don't want to hear this but I really do not recommend that you do this.
The reason has to do with your hardware.

System Requirements for Windows 98:
486DX 66 megahertz (MHz) or faster processor (Pentium CPU recommended)
16 megabytes (MB) of memory (24 MB recommended).
A full install of Windows 98 on a FAT32 drive requires up to 255MB of hard drive space
VGA Graphics

The minimum hardware requirements for Windows XP Home Edition are:
Pentium 233-megahertz (MHz) processor or faster (300 MHz is recommended)
At least 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM (128 MB is recommended)
At least 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available space on the hard disk

To be honest the posted minimum requirements for XP have long been considered a joke. A system twice as powerful as they recommend will probably still run slower than your current system with 98.
I am of course assuming that Windows 98 was originally installed on your system and it has circa 1998 hardware.

You need a windows XP patch from Olympus. According to the website, this is an update to the CAMEDIA Master 2.5 software. You can find the D-340R patch in the very first page once you click on the link here. Good luck.

This is a little difficult but it can B done :) Firstly I dunno if ya need to re-format ya drive? perhaps first ya could try to "Repair" of Win98? If that doesn't work,then, perhaps ya may have to re-format. If the Win98 is on a SEPARATE drive or Partition this also makes a difference....
