Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

Digimate 26inch widescreen LCD HD ready TV My mom (92yrs) was watching her TV last night when it just went black. She thought there was a local power outage but there wasn't one. I've tried everything, new AAA batteries in the remote, checked the power source, changed to a different outlet and made sure both ends of the power cable were solid. I cannot find any reset button or fuse to check so I'm thinking it's a power supply problem. Is this worth taking to a repair shop? Any suggestions or comments are welcome. PS I'm not afraid of taking the thing apart myself but don't have much in the way of test equipment. Thanks

Toshiba Tv - Does it have a digital tuner?

That unit has a NTSC tuner. May be HD Ready but it does not have a digital tuner. Unless you live quiet close to a local Broadcaster, rabbit ears would be useless.
The only way you would be able to get HD is using a HD Set Top Box, HD Satellite System,
or HD Cable BOX, using the Componet or HDMI inputs.
Hope this helps

No picture.

The lamp is turned on by a high voltage ballast, very similar to the ones in your fluorsecent light fixtures. Your ballast is starting to fail. You should have your TV serviced by a JVC authorized service center because they have the training to deal with this issue. Waiting until it fails could very likely cause more servere damage especially if it fails shorted then the power supply will need to be replaced as well.
