Question about Digital Cameras
Hi.. I also had this problem with canon ixus 75. i took it to the service center and they just knocked its lens(lightly) when it was on ON mode, then suddenly the screen started working.
But he said that u should use it on regular basis for few days and if the problem occurs again. then we will have to change the sensor, I think he said sensor or something like that.

I too had a black screen with all settings display available. Tapped the lens in on position and it started working. dsc-w90

I had the black screen too... the camera settings still worked on the screen but there was no picture. I tried tapping directly on the front of the lens kind of hard & got a few white lines to flash across but no luck... Ultimately I ended up shaking the hell out of my camera to get the screen to come back on. If I jiggle the entire mechanical lens portion it will come back on as well. I'm going to try to use my camera a lot the next few days like someone suggested to see if that helps long term!
