IP Camera Port Forwarding

The best way to find out what is being forwarded is to look at the traffic with the Wireshark program. You can install this from the Internet.

Wireshark is perfect for this but you have to learn how to filter traffic or there will be too much information collected. It is also regarded as (a bit of) a burglar tool so don't use it at work without permission.

I would recommend that you connect a PC to a wired port on the inside LAN and configure the router to forward outside requests to the PC. When you run wireshark on the inside PC with a filter that selects for tcp port 80 (or tcp port == 80) you will see traffic forwarded from the router.

Use your outside machine to request a page from the router's outside address and the port you are forwarding. If you have forwarding set up correctly, you should see a TCP connection attempt. If you are not running a web server on the inside PC, there will be no connection so you will only see the SYN packet from.
outside. If you have a web server on port 80, you will see a fair number of packets in both directions. (SYN -- SYN-ACK -- SYN -- some HTTP Headers an HTTP GET / a response and FIN -- FIN-ACK).

Once you see successful port forwarding (your are forwarding TCP packets, right?) at the PC, change the destination of the forwarding to the camera.

This is really technical but Wireshark is so good that it is quite easy to use.

In the Admin function you can accept the ports if you have the correct servers address's
You must add them to your firewalls permission settings and then try the test again,

Note ,

Even with Port Forwarding set up,
you will also require the correct band width and downloader from the torrent site,
ie,
Bit Comet and Bitcomet Excelerator

I need to open a port. to use utorrent but i am not seeing the port forwarding

What kind of internet connection you have.

For any kind of DSL connection you don't need to do anything for torrent access.

If you have the file that needs to be hosted then what you are looking is correct, If you dont see the option for port forwarding then you need to look for alternate router to do that.

Hangs with Bittorrent

That is because you need to open a port on router with the same number assigned to your torrent client.

You need to check port number on bittorrent configuration, then access router control panel typing router IP on internet explorer address bar and configure the router to open the port.

Port Forwarding

hello just got sorted, hope this is helpful ,,,i logged onto port forwarding.com and a long story short , basically had to interigate my zyxel router, what you do is fix the ip add of your wireless connection (the computer) to a manual fix eg. mine is now fixed to 192.168.1.40 with a port tunnel 46207(utorrent preferences)i picked this out of my head as there is a scale from one no. to another.   you then get the password to your router and get into its internal settings via password and go to the port forwarding section, you then tell the router that the computer has a fixed ip add (the one above ) and dedicate a fixed port or tunnell/window mine is 46207save this setting on your router and your home and dry, basically your telling the router that the computer has a fixed add, with port window??? and off it goes ,,,,portfward.com tells al

Port Forwarding

First off, the have the wrong IP address set for the router. The 10.0.0.138 address they are shopwing you would be replaced by 192.168.0.1 (default for D-Link). You can always tell by going to the command prompt (start/run/cmd) then type "ipconfig". This will tell you the the default gateway (router) and the ip address of your computer. The 255.255.255.0 is your subnet mask. Now try following those very confusing directions.

In the D-link, forward ports in the DMZ or RIP section of the router.

Personally, I don't know Utorrent and would not open a hole in my firewall for it. Bit Torrent is the original and most trustworthy of the 'torrent" programs.
