If you dont have the disk;

Connect your mp3player
Open My Computer,
Open 'Insignia' or other file relative to brand
go into the 'music' folder\

Then open the folder where youre music files are stored
(My Documents, My Music)

Then drag files from one to the other.

Hope that helped
if not, reply with more info.

I am electronicly challenged...I don't know if i even spelled that right? anyway all I want to do is put music on this thing..how do i do it? and try and talk s...l...o...w...lol! thanx

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :-

There are songs on my mp3 that i dont want..

1. Plug your Kix MP3 player into the USB port. 2. In Windows, open File Explorer (right-click Start, select Explore). 3. In File Explorer, open Insignia KIX, Fixed Storage, Music. 4. Select and delete any undesired songs and/or folders, except the Music folder.

Software

Insignia players mount on almost any computer with the generic mass storage driver. Two extra drive letters appear in Windows Explorer when the usb is plugged in. You can then drag your music into the Music folder. You can use any mp3 encoder/cd ripper software. Otherwise the CD contains software that is either available elsewhere (Rapsody) or is commercial software. (MediaConverter 2) is the reason why Insignia doesn't have the CD contents available for download on their website.

Help

These units take more power than a thumb drive and sometimes the front USB ports on a computer just don't push enough current to recognize these players (I have the same issue).

Try plugging it into the back USB ports.

Also, make sure your USB ports are working correctly in your device manager.
