Need to know if I can do a download to a CD Or DVD Back dics for a HP Pavilon 6553,recovery (which is a 2 dics set ) Need to burn it from another computor. And need to know if I need Internet fayzing card...

its a little dificult to work out what your trying to do but if ive got it right you have your back up saved on 1 pc and need to get it on another? if so can you not just burn it to disk on your first pc then load it into your second pc and im sure it wont work on cd it has to be a dvd and asuming you dont have a dvd writer in your first pc and you do in the second you will have to network the two pcs then burn it on your second pc for this you can do it wirelessly but you need a wireless router and network cards or the cheapest way just for the two pc is to buy a cat 5 cross over cable and plug into your lan ports then follow the instuctions in windows to set up a network but easier to buy a dvd writer

Setup program that came with the linksys wireless router BEFW11S4 says it can not detect router but all wires are connected and all the lights are on that they said to look for

Try opening internet explorer and type in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. After you do this it should prompt you for a username and password. If it does leave the username field blank and type in admin for the password. This will connect you to the router. If you typed that address in and did not recieve the prompt recheck the wires. Make sure your computer is connected to ports 1,2,3 or 4. Here is a link to the linksys website that has diagrams for this router:

I'm replacing a Linksys BEFW11S4 router with a newer Linksys model WRT160N. What do I need to do to uninstall the old one, if anything. Do I need to delete all my current connections? Thanks, Mike

It should not require any changes - since you're going from Linksys to Linksys, the IP address of the router is the same (I believe). So shut down your computer (one with a wired connection to the router!), unplug the old router, unplug your modem, plug in the modem and wait until the lights settle down, plug in the new router and wait until the lights settle down, boot up your computer and wait until it's fully booted. Open a command prompt (Start Menu/Run/cmd) and type ipconfig /all - see if you have an IP address assigned in the range of 192.168.1.x . If so, open up a browser and see if you can access 192.168.1.1; it should demand a login, use your new router's default login (in the manual) and make the changes you want (including a new password!) - change the name of your wireless network, set up security, etc. As long as you make your SSID and security identical to what you had on the old router, it shouldn't require any configuration changes on the computers (though it may require a reboot to make them see the router properly after the changeover).

I need a new power plug for my model #befw11s4 router

That model uses a 12-volt A/C power adapter. You can most probably use any power supply 10-15V without a problem, and it is a very common adapter.

A new power supply from Radio Shack or Best Buy will probably cost you as must as a replacement 802.11b router like that one.

FYI - 802.11g or Super-G or Dyno-G or whatever each company touts it router as having is basically enhanced B - it is 100% compatible in 99% of the routers. So a new Linksys WRT54G can often be found for $25 on sale in brick and mortar stores, and the same online. They will work with your existing 802.11b adapter in your computer.

Connecting a router

To connect more than one computer to same network, you need to use a router. Two modems will not work on same network.
My suggestion:
Buy a wireless modem router for cable broadband (and eventually a wireless network card for the other computer.
Here is an example: Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless-B 4-Port Cable/DSL
Ask retailer to get right model for your broadband.
Connect the remote computer with wireless.
