My acer 5750 i7 keeps shutting down

The infected laptops encounter random shutdown problem until some maintenance activity is being performed on the system.

Two important things that you should do to fix a laptop which keeps shutting down are:

1- Scanning computer to eliminate malwares, spywares and the viruses from your laptop.

2- Repairing and cleaning Windows registry.

The registry errors, however, are the internal errors and can become a cause of system crashes and freezes.
For an instant fix use system utility tool Reginout.

Asus k52f keeps shutting down randomly

I have seen the odd case where the power supply cannot keep up with the demands when the laptop is running causing it to shut down, but first! remove the main battery to see if that helps, no change! I recommend replacing the power supply adapter in hopes it will correct the problem. Go to www.ebay.com Type make and model of laptop, refine search to power supply and go through the list of prices.

HP XW6200 randomly crashes with no apparent reason.

It can be the ram sockets. When it's new material, I'll advise you to go back where you bought your material so they can check under warranty.

My computer keeps shutting down randomly. Also when i try to use F10 it will not respond if i try and run error checking the system will crash/shut down or give me a black screen. Basicly it randomly...

Possibilities:
1. overheating, and automatic shutdown.
Check that the fans are working.

2. bad RAM, causing "random" crashing.
On a "good" computer, download the free 'MEMTEST86+' software, and run it, to test your RAM.

3. Leaking capacitors on motherboard, causing "voltage-spikes", leading to "random" errors.

4. Bad disk-drive. Remove the disk-drive.
Connect it as a "slave" drive in another computer,
and run 'CHKDSK' ("Check Disk") to look for problems.

Runs good but for random shutdown without any warning,,,

powerdrain pc first. remove battery and ac adapter then press down power button for 15-20 sec. turn it on and check if it will still shut down. observe if it is hot to touch before it shuts down, might also be an overheat issue. if so, need to replace fan and heatsink.

My laptop keeps shutting down at random times. I

Computers may not be smarter than people, but if they’re designed properly, they will shut themselves down before overheating to the extent that they do themselves damage.

If the smart person keeps turning the notebook back on and figures out a way to foil the protection, the laptop is probably doomed. Once a laptop shuts down for thermal event protection, it may refuse to power back up for a fixed period of time, five or ten minutes, or it may begin to boot and shut down immediately as soon as it boots to the point that it can figure out that its too hot.

The over-temperature protection is generally a BIOS rather than an operating system function, so one sign of an overheated laptop is one that shuts itself down while you’re using it and then refuses to boot as far as the operating system unless you leave it alone for an hour or so to cool down.

Unless you’ve been working in a very unfriendly environment, high temperatures, direct sunlight, etc, you should take even a single overheating shutdown as a warning to back up your data at the first opportunity and to give the cooling system a serious cleaning.
Good luck

Pc keeps randomly powering off & then back on. Won't stop until I unplug it.Holding down power button won't shut it off. On occasion it will stay on - is able to boot & be used normally while it...

Power supplies usually are culprits in random shut downs, but random start ups is a bit more complicated. You say that when you hold the power button, the computer won't power down. Perhaps you have a faulty switch? Make sure your PW switch cable is securely attached to the motherboard. But I'm leaning more toward a faulty switch or a short in the wires. Seems like a good place to start.

Random shut down

The PSU voltages can be checked with a digital multimeter at the ATX connector, 3.3v (orange), 5.0v (red) & 12v (yellow) if the DMM is indicating values of MORE than 5% variation your PSU is the likely villain (best to rule it out first).

Are you getting a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) or error messages when you PC randomly shuts down?
