region codes are as follow. Region 1 North America, Region 4 South America, Australia, Region 2 Europe, Region 5 Asia Major,Africa,Region 6 Asia Minor, Probably your DVD is from another region....hope this helps
Turn on the player
Make sure disc tray is Open.
Press 9 9 9 9 on the remote, do it slowly.
Press what region you then require. Press 0 (zero) for multi-region/region free playback.
When you are trying to play back a disc other than the region the machine is set up for, you will get a Wrong Region message.

if its saying wrong region. then either your player or disk is incompatable. region 1 ntsc ( USA ) Region 2 ( UK ) et,c. check your players region coding is compatable for your country, and that you are also playing a dvd with the same region coding as the player. alternatively is to try and find a region free or multi-region solution.

check with another dvd you know the region. check same dvd on another (not region 2) player and see if itsn't working. find if you have to follow special instruction to activate the "all region"feature. find on line instructions do remove the region lock. confirm make /model/ sn where you bought it and I can help to find instruction.
This will make the player region free so it'll play anything. It worked on mine and i have the same player.
remote control :
- Press "System Menu" key to enter Set Up menu. - Move to "Preference Page" using arrow keys to the left or to the right. - Press the following sequence in the remote control: 135566 - A menu indicating "Region Code" will appear. - Change region using arrow keys to top or down. Region Code = 0 will play all regions. - Press "System Menu" key to exit Set Up menu.
you can reset the settings through the menu, its under the advanced option in the menu. however, its not a regional error, if it was in the wrong region, it would say wrong region and not wrong disk, try putting the region back to 1 or 0 or 9, 1 is USA, 9 and 0 are all regions.
Check your DVD or Video player manual for regional setting, you may simply be set to the wrong region. Some players have a regional button on the remote control.
Regional settings allow DVD's or Videos to be played on the same player by simply selecting the correct regional setting.
If you are on the wrong regional setting, your picture will most likely appear in black and white.
I'm living in Brazil.
I have a Home Theather Systems Philips Model HTS3565D and when i put on a DVDs show me in display Wrong Region.
Here in Brazil the DVDs are 4 Region.
Can you help me to modify in Remote Control the Region for 4?
