ACER PD125 multimedia projector

My Acer PD125 projector was working perfectly but has been out of use for 6 months. When I connect it now, I get:- 1. "ACER - Empowering People" screen, then 2. After a short delay the message "The Lamp is approaching the end of its useful life at full power ........." is displayed for a short time, then 3. The initial screen returns, together with a "No Signal" message. After this warm up none of the controls on the actual machine nor the the remote controller, except for the power button, will do anything. What can I do about this?

I suddenly have the same problem with my PD100, I turned it off to go shopping (working correctly). Came bak and now I get "no Signal". None of the controls on the device or remote work, except for power on and off. even tried letting it cool off then cutting power (unplugging) and see if that might get itt going, no luck.

saying the lamp has reach the end of it life, If the lamp is under one year old you can go into the main meno and reset the timing devise, just as if you replaced the lamp. It will stop giving you that notice.

If it is over 600 hours old you might need to replace the lamp first.

Make sure if you tilt the projector that you let it sit horizonal at least a couple of hours before you turn it on. There is a safety equilibrium built into the unit.

Did you reset the lamp hours in the menu? I believe it checks lamp life by how many hours it has been used.

SOURCE: Controls not working

This is apparently a common fault and the unit must be returned to a service centre. Theyll put in a new motherboard for it and unless its under warranty this might actually be more expensive than buying a new unit.

To remove password

If you have forgotten your password, then please do the following, to retrieve the administrator password:
A unique 6 digit "universal password" which is printed on the security card ( must have come along with the projector) The unique password will be accepted by the projector no matter what administrator password you had put in earleir.

In case you have lost the security card and the unique password , you will need to contact the Acer service center in you area.
Best of luck
