Are the lights flashing? If they are flashing it is a system error, if they are on steady it is a recoverable error. When you push cancel is the media light the only one or is align media or ready on as well?

Silly question I know but can someone please tell me why our plotter is cutting everything three times?

Probably you have copy and paste the design at the same place three times. And the cutter makes the job correctly. Delete all the duplicate vectors.

Canon ipf605 paper error

Here is what I've found out by trial and error.
Paper Roll Won't Load:
-Usually occurs when the roll is less than 50% full
-Printer will give the error "paper loaded askew"
    To Correct This:
      - Press and hold Stop until Job Cancel comes up on the
      screen
      - Press Menu
o Scroll Down until Adjust Printer menu comes up
o Press right side arrow next to OK button
o Scroll down to Manual Band Adjust and press right side
arrow again (or select one of the other adjustments)
      - Select Yes and press OK
      - Load paper roll - make sure paper is straight
      - When asked (printer will beep) select Plain Paper and
      press OK
      - Let paper load
      - When printer starts to print press and hold Stop to cancel
      job
      - Paper should now be loaded
When all else fails load a new roll.
This would be a temporary solution until the sensor is fixed.

I have a Hp DesignJet 600 plotter. When I turn it on, on the front pannel display I says "CHECK PAPER PATH" plz suggest what can be done.

Hi how are you doing?

If there is a message saying check paper path, then there must be something inside the rollers. CHeck on the back of the printer, on the inside.

Try to load a paper to see if it goes throgh.

After cleaning paper path. Just turn off the printer, and turn it on again.

Hope it Helps,

God Bless You.

HP DesignJet 430 rejecting media

When you load the paper, the carriage edge detector measures exactly where the right edge of the paper is located. Then the paper is rolled forward and the edge is measured again. If there is a difference in the measurements, the printer assumes the paper is not loaded squarely and rejects the paper. After you load the paper and the printer asks you to align the paper, take your time, release the paper with the release lever, and line up the right edge of the paper with the right edge of the paper roll. You might have to do it more than once to get it to load. Some plotters are very sensitive and others are more forgiving.

Problem with plotter

That sounds like a carrage movment problem. When you load paper the carrage moves from the RHS very quickly. If your carrage is not properly lubricated you will get that fault. Before going further you must switch off and open the cover. Look along the length of the belt (just below on the aluminum) if there ere lots of reddish pieces and a dust like substance it means that your carrage belt will need replacing. If the belt is ok, then move the head to the middle of the machine by hand and apply a drop of thin oil (sewing machine) to either side of the carrage on the bar. Move the head slowly left and right to lubricate the bar. It then should be ok.
Good luck

I have an hp1055cm plotter that is leaving streaks on the page i.e. it makes a clean first pass and on the second pass (as the print progresses)it is like the head does not reach the paper and leaves the...

Configuring the HP1055CM Driver Right click on the icon for the plotter (for WinXP, go to Start -> Printers and Faxes) and select Properties. Make the following changes:
On the tab marked General, click on the Printing Preferences button.
In the window that pops up, select the Paper/Quality tab choose Roll Feed for the Paper Source. Next, click on the Advanced button:
• Under the section called Graphic, click the down arrow next to ICM Method and choose "ICM handled by Host System".
•Under the section on Document Options, there is a section called Postscript Options. Click on the "+", then change "Optimize for Speed" to "Optimize for Portability". Also make sure the "PostScript Language Level" is set to 3.
• In the section Printer Features, set "Scale to:" to "No Change".
• If you wish, under Paper/Output, you can select a default paper size appropriate for the plotter: ARCH E (36in x 48in) seems reasonable. (Note that when you print from an application, you may want to adjust the paper size for your specific plot, and you should also set your document to an appropriate smaller size in the application.)
• Click on OK buttons until you get back to the main window for Properties.
On the properties tab marked Advanced, click on the radio button for Print Directly to Printer.
Also click on the Printing Defaults button, then the Advanced button. If you see a similar set of postscript options like you just went through above, repeat the process to set the ICM method, set postscript options to "Optimize for Portability" and Language Level to 3, change the paper size, and set "Scale to" to no change.
Click on OK buttons until you get back once more to the main window for Properties.
Under the property tab for Device settings, you should change the Output Protocol from ASCII to JPEG. (If there is no JPEG option, select Binary.) It is also helpful to change "Send CTRL-D at end of job" from YES to NO, but that isn't crucial. Under the section marked Installable Options, change the amount of installed memory from "Default" to the closest value below 96 MB, probably 80 MB. (The plotters actually have 96 MB, but since not all of that is available for user jobs, it's better to claim the smaller value. This is still larger than the "default" size, which is about 48 MB.)
Click OK.

The 430 ID is B/W, you need to load the 450C driver to get color, renaming the driver isn't enough.

Printhead

When the plotter goes through its initialization, it stops, the printheads move to the right side and the window displays "switch power off, check printhead path (2)" I've turned the power of an wiped things down, I've unplugged and then restarted but continue to get this message. What do I need to look for or do to get it back on track?
