Hi Josh
The sound system you replaced. Is it internal or external?

If you have replaced the sound card it could be a seating problem. Just shut the mac down and re-seat the card. If it is an external sound system you need to check your connections and cables. It does not sound like a OS problem.

How to record audio on Mac OS X El Capitan

Some users of Mac OSX 10.11 probably find that recording audio is not so easy as before. Since this operating system made some changes in "Sound" preference, lots of audio recorders become malfunctional. This issue can be solved by QuickTime if you just need to record mic voice, but recording audio from sound card is another story. Soundflower is still helpful, however you may be troubled by the complicated settings. To make this stuff simpler, share you an efficient solution here.

Step 1: Open the online audio recorder, click Start Recording to activate the application.

Step 2: Follow the instruction and install a launcher, the recorder will open. You will only be asked to install the launcher when you use the app for the first time.

Step 3: Select the Audio source at the bottom of interface, it allows to record sound played on Mac, voice from microphone or both.

Step 4: You can start to record sound on El Capitan now, the sound can be streaming music, radio, voice calls or others. Click the Record button, recording will be started.

Step 5: When you want to stop, click the Record button again.

Step 6: You can access to more functions like play, rename, edit ID3 on Library interface.

Based on my experience, the application doesn't have restriction on recording time. The audio will be saved as M4A which can be played with QuickTime and iTunes.

Windows 7 makes an annoying noise about every 5-10 minutes. like its letting me know im afk or something this is terribly annoying as im trying to sleep and such can i turn it off? what is it? ...

Windows 7 is an OS which has lots of upgradation done from the existing Windows XP and other versions and runs on longhorn and Vista principles. If you have a problem with annoying noise, it will be appreciable if you can give a clear picture on what noise it makes... is it a beep, or a jarring music, a fan speeding noise, or any Wav file played from its system audio files.

If it a fan speed increasing with loud noise, please check the compatibility of your Hardware with the OS. May be you have to update your BIOS to clear this out and most of the HW Drivers.

If its some audio file played, check for tracking down the file which is played and understand which program is initializing it by just looking at the backend process running and the threads utilized.

If its a noise which is neither a beep or a system Audio played and just a horrible sound from the speakers... Please check the HW ports for Audio by taking the Laptop \ Desktop to a HW engineer after updating the Audio Drivers. This will resolve your
Issue i believe. Do write back if you need any further assistance. Good Luck.

Check that if your mac work with headphone and look to input sound, look if there's a red light on!
If above signs exist, you should plugged the cable of your headphone or cable of speaker in input sound, put it there and put out, do this loop till the light going to off and then you'll get the sound

Mac making funny noises

It sounds like a problem with the drive itself, since the disc image leaves your desktop as it should.

It looks like you're going to need a new optical drive.

You can find your closest Apple Authorized Service Provider with this page:
http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service.html

Or check your local Yellow Pages for service technicians that work on Macs to call around and compare prices.

Good luck.
