This is an old known issue I don't know today, but when the problem was just discovered Apple changed the plastic part that had this problem, I don’t know if they still do so today, try asking around here someone probably knows.

Have a nice day.

Track pad will not click

Hi There,
I hate to say it, but you might have one the MacBooks whose battery has swelled, and interferes with using the click function of the keyboard.
If that is the case, you can take your laptop to an Apple Store and quietly, but sternly, raise hell with them so that they will replace your battery free of charge.
Hope this helps & good luck!

The frame around the monitor is coming off? Like unglued or something? Is it safe to just some electronic super glue to re-attach or is this a deeper issue???

You should take the Macbook to an Apple store and request that they repair the bezel around the monitor for free. There was a batch of whilte Macbooks that had defective bezels that should be replaced at no cost.

When I connect my Macbook to an Epson 410W the computer screen periodically changes to blue and then back again. It almost seem as if it is scanninng for something.

This is done by all Macbooks when they connect to a display. The computer is setting itself up and fixing the resolution and size issues, so that the image will display correctly onto the second monitor (the Epson 410W)

I want to retrieve data from a Powerbook 3400c via ethernet. I have a Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard and an iMac running OS10.4

I think the 3400c has a Firewire port, which would allow it to startup in "target disk mode" where it would be just like an external hard drive. That is, hold T at startup to get TDM. I have a Pismo with Firewire but I think the color 3400 is older.
With MacBooks and OS10.5 or later (you are at 10.6) you can do this with USB, also. So it might use the MacBook as the external drive of the PowerBook to transfer files in Finder.
Otherwise, you can turn on AppleShare on both and use Ethernet to transfer files slower.

External sound won't work. red light on audio port when try to turn it up a 'no entry' sign comes up

This is a VERY common problem with all types of MacBooks. However, it is also VERY easy to fix this problem. What you'll need: A can of compressed air ( for dusting off computers and electrical components).
Step 1: Insert the end of the straw (the end the air comes out of) into your earphone jack (the audio port that the red light is coming out of). No need to jam it in there. Just insert it about 1/4 inch.
Step 2: Spray bursts of air into the port. This will NOT harm the MacBook. I won a MacBook repair business and we use this technique frequently. While you apply the air, try the volume button over and over. Sometimes you have to wait a couple of seconds after you apply the air. The air pressure corrects the switch inside that usually gets out of whack after using headphones or external speakers. The volume problem has even happened to my personal MacBooks. Don't forget to vote after this helps you out. Here's my e-mail in case you have further questions: (iPatch Solutuons)

Not really. LCDs are very fragile - far more so than the manufacturers of MacBooks and PCs would have us all believe. The only remedy is to get a new one fitted.

My macbook won't show color

i didn't think that was possible with the newer macbooks, even if a person wanted a black/white screen.. sounds like a hardware defect/malfunction without an easy user solution. i recommend taking it to an apple store to have it checked out, or using the hardware test if you have it, or a service estimate.
