Everything was working great with my new Acer 5315 installed with Vista Home Basic until 5 days ago when suddenly I kept getting an error of 680. My ISP is Netzero. HELP PLS....Im completely illiterate about computers so please be gentle. Somehow I managed to connect thru a wireless network and I dont know how I did that. It comes and goes. Just happens to work tonight. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Re: No Dial Tone...
First check your phone lines, if they're good call the phone company, you should have a dial tone. netzero only offers dialup so the internet you are using is your neihbors....they didn't lock their router. good luck

i had same problem trying to receive faxes until i changed phone connections.
according to a motorola manual (link below) this has something to do with being connected to a "proper analog phone line".
i had the phone line running from wall to a newer gateway (maybe 8 months) dec 07 to a maybe 2 year old compaq. kept getting that loop current error on the compaq when trying to receive a fax until i elimated the gateway connection and plugged the wall right into the compaq.
