Access to the tail light cluster should be through panels in the rear corners of the vehicle. Remove the panel and you can remove the tail light cluster to replace the bulbs. This is the position on most sedans, unless, like on pick-ups, the tail light lenses have screws which allow the lenses to be removed to change the bulbs.

there is an access cover in the trunk.Open that and just pull the bulb fixture out replace the bulb and place back in the hole.

The easiest way is to open back trunk open any coverings or carpet pull it back to gain access to the bulb socket once you see the socket twist it counter clock wise and remove remove the bulb and replace with new one once installed have someone step on your brake pedal to confirm working then put upholstery back and you =have completed changing your brake light bulb.

one or more of your bulbs in the brake light sockets is wrong or you have a short circuit between the brake light wire(s) and the running light wiring.

Check the back bulbs 1st.

on either side of the boot interior, there are what look like air vents. these clip out from the top (with a flat screwdriver) you then unbolt the light unit, pull it out. the bulb holder then unclips easily.

Changing brake bulbs

Open the back gate of the jeep. There chould be 2 screws that hold in the light assembly. Remove the screws and pull out the assembly. Replace the bulbs and replave the housing.
