We have Apex DVD player that is compatible with the RCA universal remote. We have done the search for the code and have written it down. We have programmed the code, which is 3160, numerous times and it still is not working to run the DVD player. Please let us know if what we can do. Thank you for your time, and we hope to hear back from you soon!

My first advice is to confirm if your remote control is working fine by aiming the infrared emitter(sensor) directly to your cellphone camera, while pressing any button key, you can see the flash of an infrared through your camera indicating that the remote is in good condition. Watch the video below for more info.
You are entering the right codes for Apex DVD player. And this remote control has only two 3 digit codes for Apex DVD (147 & 256).
If the two codes didn't work to your player, I would advice you to do the auto code search mode. At this state, the remote control will automatically find the compatible codes available from its memory. Follow the steps below.
> Turn on the DVD player.
> Hold down [SET] and the device you want to set (AUX) so that the red LED light goes on
> Press [SET] again. The LED will start flashing
> Press [POWER] button continuously until the DVD player turn off
> Once the DVD player turned off, press the device key(AUX) you are working with to end the setup
Please be patient while doing this steps because the remote control will try to find the compatible codes listed on its memory.
If the auto search mode didn't work also, this is an indication that this Model no. is not compatible (no compatible codes) to the remote control.
You are seeking codes with RCA systemlink-3 remote control to Apex TV. Unfortunately, there is no setup codes for Apex Tv with this remote control. It is very difficult to gat a remote control that has setup codes for Apex Tv.
Comcast On demand custom-3 universal remote control has codes for Apex.
Codes are :
0748, 0765, 0767
Many universal remote control codes can be found on InsigniaProducts.com. Just search for your TV model number and click Support. The same may be true of the other manufacturers that you mentioned, so I recommend that you visit their websites as well. I hope this helps.
With your model number at hand, check the RCA website for a later code list.
If you are the exception, you might find one.
Most all remotes have a 'search' function that lets you scan through all of the available code sets but this feature will, in most cases, provide only minimal functionality such as Power, Volume and Channel.
In truth, there isn't any such thing as a 'universal' remote, including the 'learning' remotes; I have one of those and it is unable to 'learn' from either of my later sets' remotes.
At best, these should be called (honestly) 'multi-brand.'
