No I wouldnt be your hard drive if you are able to boot safe mode. I would say you most likely have your Windows exe file corrupted. In safe mode use windows restore and try go back to a date when the pc ran ok. If this fails- Format the hard drive and reload your operating system.

Blu ray shows the "Blu ray Disc" Logo on TV screen and then just show a black creen

Hi! and welcome to Fixya!

It looks like your tv is unable to handle the output video resolution from your bluray. The reason why you do not have picture on the tv screen after the bluray disc logo appears.

You can follow the instruction below to set the video resolution on your player to its lowest resolution:

1. Using your bluray remote control, press the following buttons in order... STOP button (press and release) ....HOME button (press and release)....POP UP/MENU button ( press and release )
Note: press the buttons in order with 1 second interval. Make sure tv and bluray are ON when you try this. If first attempt nothing happens, try this again.

2. When the home menu screen appears after doing the above instruction, you can set the video resolution again manually. Follow the instruction:
Using the BD remote control press HOME button > then go to SETUP > select screen settings > then change OUTPUT VIDEO RESOLUTION to Auto > change also 24P OUT to 1080P // set the BD-ROM 24P OUTPUT to Auto

The next time you turn on the bluray player you will have picture again.

Let me know if this works!

Blue screen problem

hello
Try this

To Select Last Good Known Configuration and manually install the new driver:
Approximate Troubleshooting time: 5-8 minutes
Reboot the PC and press F8 at startup
Select Last Known Good and let the PC boot
Browse to: C:\Drivers\System\UTLIntelMatrixStorageMgr3\
Run iata86enu.exe and follow the instructions (next, next…)
In the event you get pop-ups that the installer cannot find a particular file, hit the Browse button and point to the directory:
C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Matrix Storage Manager\Drivers\
At the end of the install, accept the option to reboot.
Login to the PC and verify the new driver installed.
Open Device Manager and look for the Intel SATA controller (the name will vary between models)
Open the device.
Go to the Driver Tab (at the top). Click Driver Details.
Verify that iaStor.sys is now version 8.6.0.1007

The screen is black on my computer aspire one acer

This has happened to my computer twice, the computer starts up but nothing appears on the screen. Both times it was a corrupted BIOS that needed to be updated - if you follow the instructions here it is a simple fix. If it is too complicated then point out the link to a techie friend and get them to do it for you:
