Question about Lexmark X7170 All-In-One Scan/Copy/Fax and Photo Printer
Recently had a low toner message for black. Next time I went to use a fault appeared - incoreect cartridge. I replaced black toner with genuine Lexmark cartridge - message still appears.
Have turned off on. Removed power source. Taken cartridges out and put back in - no luck.
Any suggestion would be apreciated.

Nice job on trying different ways to resolve the problem - turning off/on the printer, removing power source, reseating the cartridges and even changing the cartridge with a genuine Lexmark cartridge. You pretty much did the necessary. Genuine Lexmark cartridges shouldn't cause you that much trouble. I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark technical support to further investigate the problem.

? Remove the toner cartridge. Gently shake the toner cartridge from side to side and front to back several times to redistribute the toner, and reinsert it. Repeat this procedure multiple times. If the print remains faded, replace the toner cartridge.

Replace Toner with gen cartridge.
Or Take cartridge back as faulty after checking that it was opened and installed correctly.
Check display on printer for indications that maybe it needs one of the 3 colour toners indicators are Y,C or M
K is black
