You basically are having BSOD = Blue screens of death of the boot manager and causes your computer to crash and not log into the OS, I would recommend you do a DFT , Drive Fitness Test on the computer, you can download it from google and burn it to a cd and boot off of it and test your Hard Drive. Most likely you have a bad hard drive or bad sectors and these damaged sectors could have been system files that vista needs to boot into and since it can no longer access / find them you wont be able to log on. If you replace the Hard Drive and reinstall using your system Disks/ restore cd's you should be golden and up and running. If you dont have the disks you can call the computer manufacturer and they should be able to supply you a copy for a small charge. Hope my answer gets you closer to a solution. Please Help rate me if I helped you out or not I am new but a very good tech.

Error code 999 after replacing the internal batteries.

It may be due to system file damage. However, be aware that 'error 999' can have many causes.

Try and repair by:
1) Start your computer and log on as an administrator.
2) Click the Start button then select All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click System Restore.
3) In the new window, select "Restore my computer to an earlier time" option and then click Next.
4) Select the most recent system restore point from the "On this list, click a restore point" list, and then click Next.
5) Click Next on the confirmation window.
6) Restarts the computer when the restoration is finished.

The link below will take you to a website where you can download a '999 repair tool' .. if you can.
http://www.error-toolkit.com/troubleshoot/999.php#fix

But ... before you try that ... Try removing the new battery. Your PC should be switched off at the mains .. Leave it for 5 minutes, refit the battery .. then 5 minutes later start the computer and see what happens.

You can also try pressing the F8 key while the computer boots up. This will start it in safe mode (hopefully).

If all fails - insert your dvd with Windows on it (if you have one) and choose the repair option at start up.

I have a dell Inspirion 530. When I turn on my computer this black screen comes up.At the top says windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. to fix the problem. 1....

I think the system files of windows might be affected. Looking at the support.dell.com website it's eigther you have windows vista or windows XP as your operating system

what you can do is Startup Repair, System Restore

1. To do this you have to boot your computer to the Windows Vista disk
.At the bottom says "Windows is loading files...."The Windows Setup environment will continue to load

2. At this screen you should configure the Language to install, Time and currency format, and Keyboard or input method options so that they are set correctly. When done, press the Next button. You will now be at the main Windows Vista setup screen where you would normally install Vista on to a computer.

3. Click Repair your Computer and keep on hitting next until you get the menuroadfox_18.jpg
4. Choose Starup Repair First Keep on hittng next until computer restarts.

5. If it fails repeat steps 1 to 4 and choose System Restore

6. System restore will prompt you choose a date. I suggest to choose a date within a week when the computer's setting is up and running

Hope This helps

In windows vista update what does the error code windows update_c015004 mean

I,m not certain what the error points to exactly, but would suggest its a failed update from a security patch? I think the way forward is to try a system restore using the vista disc

During Window Update error Code: 80073712 is found

To fix it,
Click the start pearl, type CMD on the search line, right click CMD.exe on the Menu above, click "run as Administrator". On the command line type the following command:
reg delete HKLM\COMPONENTS /v StoreDirty

also navigate to C:\Windows\winsxs, and delete a file called "Pending.xml" [its on every vista install if you can see it or not]

you will need to enable "show all files" and uncheck "protected operating system files" from "folder options" in control panel

I cannot install ethernet driver of hp compaq d530. Where can i find it?

Hello: I hope the following information is helpful.
If you are trying to install the driver for the Broadcom ethernet NIC that was pre-installed (NOT an ethernet card that you purchased and installed yourself), there is a softpack (updated driver installation) download available from HP/Compaq. It will install the driver automatically for you, just download it from the link below and run the ".exe" file.
IMPORTANT: Check to be sure that your current Operating System, and model of the network device you are trying to install, are BOTH listed below BEFORE you download!
This is a software / driver update for the HP Compaq d530 ultra-slim desktop: All Models

Trying start my computer it says bootmgr missing pressctrl alt del. still wont work

your windows config has been coppupted. Insert ops system disk and reboot, select repair. This will only apply with genuine ops system disks. If this fails, do the same above again, only this time select new installation - downside is it will wipe your drive and you will loose all data.
