Review fist your connection, the input and output signals,also the settings of the tv and hometheater check them if correct..cable use depend on jack or teminals of the divice

Hi,here is my simple solution... If
you want to listen your TV on your Stereo system thru your receiver,
** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your TV ** to "AUX input "
or "TV" OR "Any input" of your receiver ( except Phone ) or "Optic Cable input" ** than just switch to
respective mode on RECEIVER corresponding your RCA or Optic connection... There you go..Your TV sound is on the Receiver..By this means whatever you watch on the TV (tuner, satellite , Xbox ) ,it's sound will come thru your stereo..

i have the same dav dz260 and all my stuff works on mine. this is how i set it up i have conected y dz to the tv via scart and my sky and ps3 via hdmi cable. to get sound from sky and ps3 i conected a optical cable from the dz260 to the tv and when i want sound for sky or ps3 all i did was change the function on the dz260 to tv and the tv setting to the hdmi im using and hey presto sound hope it helps
It won't work as the DAv can only output to HDMI by bringing singal into the HDMI input.
why wouldn't you send it directly to the TV and Audio to the DAV? I sounds like you don't have an HD box anyway (otherwise why would you use an analogue S-video cable vs component or HDMI). Unless there is a distance issue then go to the TV.
