Question about Sony KV-35V35 TV

1 Answer

Words on screen

I just bought KV-35V35 used, no remote, using universal remote. (and ordered original on ebay.) Today suddenly I started having words on the screen - not closed captions, more a description of the program. For example, right now the screen (over the picture) looks a little like this:

KNBC
XXIX Summer Olympics

05:00 01:58

Swimming, Gymnastics, Diving Sp
orts. (2008) Swimming finals, g
ymnastics, women's; diving, spri
ngboard synchronized. (CC) (Ster

And I can't get rid of it! Then, while I was trying to get rid of it, I suddenly got a pip screen, black, with no picture, and can't get rid of that either. I feel like an idiot - obviously i did something to cause this, but now i can't get rid of it!!!

OMG! Hope you found the solutions by now? ! Wouldn't be the SAP control would it? Have you tried to reformat the TV with original set-up format? Best of luck, arb711.

Hello
The original remote control of your TV is available at Ebay. It is priced $8.99. Just order them with the exact model number of your TV and order for a remote control of the set. They will get it at your doorstep. OK.

Can't get two screen option off tv

Problem is now resolved! We found that Radio Shack has a preprogrammed remote for just twenty one dollars. The man that sold it to us showed us which features on the remote fix the problem. He was right (love Radio Shack because they are so helpful!). It is a Universal HDTV PRO Remote Cat. no. 15-135 (on the back). We had bought a different universal remote, but the man said that we needed this one, and he was right.

Video Labels stay on - Sony TV Model KV-32V16

Press Display / ' i ' button TV original remote and on-screen display will disappear.
I repeat, you need Sony TV original remote to do so, universal remotes do not have such button.

WS-55809 with Universal Remote

you will have to get a new mitsu remote in order to make the adjustment. Most universal remotes are made to just do basic functions, unless you start getting into nice sony touchscreen remotes but then they cost 100 by themselves.
the remote to a mitsubishi wd55513, wd65513 etc will also work on this set, I have done it before.
Here is one on ebay:

Sony KV-32FS200 a unclear square picture is appreaing inside main picture

That is called PIP "picture in Picture" It allows you to watch 2 channels at the same time, The only way you can fix it is by getting the original remote or a universal one which has that option.... I am not sure but I think if you unplug the tv, it will reset to factory settings... Idk try it!!

Very poor resolution

Your best bet is to get a Zenith universal remote control.

Can Not Get Rid Of Channel Label

You cannot without the original remote unit. Dont try to get a cheap universal remoter as that will not work as well. To get the original remote, go to http://rwww.remotes.comor call 1-800-remotes and order the original remote. you will not only be able to get rid of the channelk label, you will get full use of the tv functions. Good Luck
