How do i fix red and green color alignment on a sony kp-43770 tv

Model number does not sound quite correct but if a convergence problem both chips the set uses will have to be replaced and the set adjusted with the Sony remote.

Confirm actual model number and Google it with "parts" to see what it uses. Most convergence chips will have the actual STK number right on the front of them and almost all Sony sets use two chips.

You have a convergence issue, will have to check convergence IC,S or just replace them there are usually two of them mounted on heat sinks they are usually STK'S with a number after. Also must check fuseable resistors supplying +15 and - 15 volt s to the chips. After replacement some convergence alignment may be needed. Good Luck.

Convergence problem

If this is a kp-46wt510: You need to replace the two convergence ic's; they should be STK 392 types---look inside and you will see them on identical large metal heat sinks with fins--the ones your set uses will have the full stk number on them(stk-392-110 or stk-392-560 are the most common for Sony)

They both need to be replaced and any bad fuses or resistors around them that protect them found and replaced---Most of the time just the two chips need to be replaced and the set adjusted with the remote; I have done hundreds of these sets and usually the repair takes about an hour and can be done in your home.

Replaced STK's, fuses ok, +/- 22 VDC ok, still can

did you checke the two 5amp IC protectors located on the G board? Those will usually blow when the original ICs fail.

Convergence ICs are bad it causes the red and/or blue to jump out of alignment making it look 3D. You have to convergence ICs located on a large aluminum heat sink with an STK number stamped on them. You can purchase new ones for about 10.00 each. they have to be soldered in. If you can solder you should easily be able to repair this yourself. Let me know if you need anything further.

Convergence problem

you will need to replace the stk ic's they are mounted to 2 large heat sinks in side the tv. the ic numbers are on the chips themselves. i do believe it is stk392-510 for sony. once you have the number you can buy these anywhere online. just put new ones in and should be good to go. if this doesnt work then there are a few resistors and fuses by the ic's that sometimes fail.
