Question about Singer 3116 Simple

Amatur Sewer?threads tangled below

I have a Singer Esteem and am having issues with the threads getting tangled up below the machine, near the bobbin. I get about 4-6 stitches in before it jams. When I cut it loose, there are several strands going from my material to the machine. A few of them are stuck where the bobbin spool is, and sometimes they are oily and dirty. Clearly I am doing something wrong. Could you give me some step-by-step guidance on what I can do to fix this?
Thanks!!!

I have tried different tensions but the thread still keeps on getting tangled, this is my first time sewing on a machine, maybe i am doing something else wrong?

I have the same problems as posted above. When I do 6 stitches or so I have a mess of string going from the material to down below. The lower bobbin has nothing to do with this. It seems to get all tangled up on where the bobbin sits - I am new at this and don't know what else to do. I have messed with the tension and this does not help.

Stop sewing! You need to adjust your tension. Your book will explain exactly how to do this. If you can't find your book, try setting the tensions to the same number. If your tension adjustments have a mark at a certain number, use that setting for most materials. If not, try setting it to about 3.

To test your settings, thread your bobbin with a different color, then do a test stitch. Check the top and bottom stitches for a spot of the other color thread showing through. If the bobbin thread shows in the top, raise the bobbin tension setting a bit and try it again.

Hope this FixesYa!

My singer model #247 was working fine and threaded and filled bobbin several times. The bobbin got tangled. Got it undone but can't get it to pull bobbin thread up now. I need for sewing camp asap

First thing--change to a new needle in case it was bent when the threads got tangled. Now un-thread the machine all the way and re-thread it, making sure your thread is going through the needle in the proper direction. You have to have a top thread in order to get the machine to pick up the bottom thread.

Thread is bunching under fabric and I've rethreaded both the bobbin and the thread from the top multiple times.

Be sure your bobbin is inserted the correct way (this varies from machine to machine, so check the owner's manual). Bobbin tension is dependent upon this in most Singer machines.

Top thread tangled in bobbin.

try changing the needle---flat side goes to the back side of the machine
also check the top tension
depending on the fabric your sewing on--the needle & thread have to work
with the fabric--example light fabric needs a different needle & thread than
a heavy fabric
check to see if the thread is coming off the thread take up lever when you
sew.

How do i put threed into the bobbin and keep it from not getting tangled?

Is it getting tangled while you're spooling the bobbin on the top right corner of the Singer 1507 machine? If this is the case, you have to pull the thread through the top tiny hole in the bobbin, and hold on to the thread end. Then click the bobbin to the right to lock it in place, power up your machine. Keep holding the thread as you begin spooling the bobbin. Let go of the thread once the bobbin starts to spin a few rounds and the thread should not get tangled.

I cannot get my machine to stay threaded. I have changed thread, needles, and tension. What am I doing wrong

Is your tension too tight? I have had that problem before, and the thread just comes out. Another problem is the bobbin might have an issue and get tangled with the thread, causing it to come undone.

On my old Singer 834, the bobbin thread puts out

Are you sure the bobbin thread is in the case correct. it also as tension support.Or is the bobbin thread right . When you make your bobbins that also should have tension.
