Remove a message at the top of my screen

Hi well this may simply be a setting of the onscreen display or it indeed maybe a "Fault" In any event I have given you the links above for a service manual and the user manual too.
Please use these to troubleshoot the issue, first check that it isn't an onscreen display setting that needs to be turned off, if it isn't this then it maybe the character generator with the microprocessor in the set that has faulted?
However if you cannot, or do-not wish to DIY, then the very best thing you can do to effect a repair is to contact an LG local or head office and ask them for a referral to an authorised service center, when in contact here and when face to face then ONLY first ask for a "Quote" as to what's wrong and prospective costings and go from there.

I have a red and green line running up the tv. It isn't overbearing but the tv is only 5 months old.

You have a bad panel. Take your TV to a service center, you are covered under a 1 year warranty.

Loose cable connector- no feed

If the ANT or CABLE in coaxial connector is damaged, it often requires that the entire tuner module be replaced. Sometimes you can solder a new jack in, but it isn't a guarantee. You might wish to contact a local service center.

I have a 19in Emerson Flat Screen TV that I am using as a PC Monitor and it isn't using the full screen. How do I fix it to use the whole screen?

You might not be able to. If the screen size doesn't adjust with the wide/view mode/picture format button on the television remote control you have to change the resolution on the pc. You right click on an empty spot on the desktop, choose properties, and then choose the settings tab. A lower resolution will cause the image to fill the screen but the icons get really big. The image isn't as refined. However you may be able to play around with it enough to find a good enough resolution and a view mode with the Emerson remote that will work out for you (a combination of the two).

A spot developed in center of screen next day black lines across screen from the original spot

it sounds like you have a small crack on your screen that has gotten worse over time, these black areas are where the lcd crystals aren't active anymore, unfortunately there isn't allot you can do apart from buy a new screen or put up with the black lines.
