You need to get the firmware upgrade from the Philips website, not reformat the player

Hello.
Scan your Mp3 for virus.
Try to reformat or reset it
especially reformat the memory card
as there might be corrupted files.

I tried turning my mp3 player on and it said "invalid memory, cant find MBR"

Invalid MBR = Invalid Master Boot Record.
This means that your player Flash Memory drive is corrupted and unfortunately may need to be reformatted if you cannot repair it using some Disk drive or Flash drive utility.
You can try to use 'Properties -> Tools -> Error Checking -> Check now' to fix the issue.
If you have a backup of the music on your player, I would simply use Windows Explorer and FORMAT it using FAT32.
Hope it helps.

Recognition by computer

It seems that the storage portion of your MP3 player is already corrupted. If the device is still under the warranty, take advantage of it and contact the manufacturer for memory card replacement.

The memory card (storage) should be replaced and NOT reformat. There could be bad sectors and it cannot be fixed by reformatting only.

Have a great day!

Can't unlock my sansa mp3

I assume the hold slider is not engaged?
If you have a memory card try inserting it to see if it will start up.  If it does then you may have to reformat the internal memory as it may have been corrupted (WARNING: you will loose all the songs in the unit)
I hope this helps.

Your flash memory has become corrupted.. only the manufacturer can repair..I wouldn't try to reformat it...Never force it to run after it has shutdown from low battery. Don't leave it in high heat environment..You could try to connect it to your pc with the power switch in the off position let it charge fully and then before you disconnect turn the power switch on on the player..If thatdoesn't work make sure you are using the pc that connected to the player originally and plug the player with the power switch on and restart your pc. Good luck
