Question about Toys
My gator will only go in high speed forward, and not reverse or low speed.
If I put it in low gear, and move the left wheel slightly forward, both wheels will engage and operate normally for several cycles. But then, it stops working again, where you have to slightly move that left wheel to get it going again.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I had a peg perego gator hpx that was soing the same thing and I replaced both the high low switch and the reverse switch.
I found them at this website http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-peg-perego.html
hope this helps

Sounds like the gears are stripped. If a bunch of teeth are missing, only the high speed gear will spin the gears fast enough to move the gator forward. I just bought a used one and found it pretty easy to tear apart and diagnose as similar issue. The gear boxes, located inboard of each wheel contain plastic gears and strip relatively easy if the shifter is moved , during motion from forward to reverse.
